I think any type of place like the Value Palace should not be allowed in Arnold. I wish they were never allowed to build it. Paying 199 per week with no lease and allowing the occupants to use this as an Apartment/long term housing is asking for trouble. This story did not suprise me. I think it is a perfect location for a hotel or motel (like Super 8) but I notice everyday the Fox school bus stops there and lets children off. I would not want my children in that enviroment and I don't understand why the school would not look into the families that live there. With drug overdoses, prostitution, child pornography, stealing, assault, drug sales, drug manufacturing, rape, burglary and other felonious actions..their has to be some kind of neglect or endangerment to the children....

Now the City of Arnold has decided to post a Officer in the Lobby 24/7 and the Hotel is to pay for this Officer. And I understand that for any new residents, they first must go through a "back-ground" investigation. This is a violation of their privacy. That sort of investigation is mostly only used when apply for jobs

It is not a violation of their privacy. If they don't want anyone looking into their background, they have the option to go elsewhere. When you rent an apartment, you are required to have a credit check and many places also require a criminal background check. It is not out of the ordinary for any landlord to do this in order to protect their interest in the property. If people have a history of tearing up their surroundings, it would be wise not to rent to them, don't you think? Maybe they could come stay with you?

Leader said there were 11 arrests in the past week alone. SHUT THE PLACE DOWN!!!!! It is putting our safety in jeopardy with all of these criminals running around.

That comment is stereotypical. I sure hope you aren't a councilman.
I know several people that live in trailer parks. Not because they cannot afford a house, but they choose to live there. They are more upstanding citizens than Moritz or Crisler. They pay their taxes and make an honest living.
I live in Arnold. I'm 21, fresh out of high school and in college. I live within walking distance of Value Place. I KNOW that in Arnold, many trailers are owned by people doing illegal activity. They are a breeding ground, only getting worse.

I hope they shut that dump down for good, what did they honestly expect to happen there when they built it?

Is this hotel close to where KMart used to be? Or is the one over by Applebee's? I used to work in Arnold from 2001 to 2006 and it sure has grown. When I drive out there now I can not believe all the fast food places. Jeffco Blvd is going to be like Manchester Rd soon with bumper to bumper traffic. I like Arnold.

The hotel in question is the new one that was built by Texas Roadhouse. I do know of the other one you are talking about. I know someone whoused to work there and he told me that similar problems existed there. I believe that hotel was sold and it is now a Retirement community.

I don't know if you can call them citizens of Arnold, if you live in mobile courts off Starling. Peoples, in houses get free trash pick up, mobile courts don't, even though they pay Arnold tax and how much do you pay quarterly for sewer, and water run off? They pay, counting trash,$169.00 quarterly.

I would have no friends if I touched this one! But I do know the hotel worried me. I worried for the kids living in the hotel.

I worked there right after this happened in 2011 and resigned just recently....the ownership group has no interest in keeping it safe for the employees or the decent guests. They will run rates of 99 bucks a week on craigslist when they are slow. Tell me that isn't inviting every pimp, drug addict, criminal, and derelict to have a place to flop?!? I decided to quit after 9 months and over 70 "incidents"....The final straw for me was when of these so called "guests" pulled a knife on one of my coworkers. The ownership DOES NOT CARE about anything than the almighty dollar. It may be quiet there right now, but problems will always exist at such low rates. Just about everything you have heard is absolutely true....
