CVS has destroyed so much above Quik Trip at 141 and Jeffco. Nothing has been decided YET for land across from the Post Office. Whatever goes there will again make toooo much traffic for such a small street.

I myself am tired of all the expansion going on in Arnold. I guess it will stop when they cant cram another building in somewhere. And there are no trees or land left. Wish i would of moved futher south 20 yrs ago.

Then get out - Arnold is building while other cities are dying. Head south before it is way too late. Dittmer needs you. They are calling for you. Do not let that door hit you in the butt on your way south. Careful on 55 or the Arnies will tag you. CYA.

Arnold is building? That is the problem. They are not in the building business. Who is footing the bill for all of this building? Who will be paying for years? Who will be suffering because of this? What are the unintended consequences?$80 Million here,$42 Million there, a million short here, in the hole a couple million there. Who profits? Who is making all the money while others are paying for it? Follow the money,.

Our quaint little "countryside" is disappearing. I've said it before and will say it again.....welcome to the new South St Louis City. Want to know what it will look like in 10 years just take a drive along Broadway right on up to downtown. All we need now is a Metrolink station next to Lee's chicken and we will have all the store patrons one could wish for. Of course none of them will be paying for the items they take out the door so profits will dwindle, stores will close and then the St Louis area will have another shopping area to blight. Ahh progress, gotta love it.

That area is already very congested. You can hardly get through the south bound light, because of cars turning into Quick trip. Now they are adding another drive right beside it. WHO DID THE PLANNING !!!!!

arnold guy, No they are not building another entrance beside it. They are closing the old one and making a new one. And not only that since it is going to be a street and not just an entrance for the QT, you will have a built in stacking lane and no reason to stop on Jeffco. Making this a much improved entrance and will help reduce the problem you are talking about. So before you blame the planners you should really get you facts straight!

141 and Jeffco is every drivers nightmare. too many openings for people to stop. Lots of fender benders coming. Arnold will die on the vine because traffic is one long problem and it is never considered before adding another store. It's much easier to go to Gravois Bluffs. The developer laid out the roads and it's very safe to go to any store unlike Arnold.

How dare you say traffic is not considered! Our city planning department trusts vendors implicitly to do unbiased traffic studies that in no way favor the developer wanting to put another restaurant, store or housing development in place. They are on the short list of approved traffic study providers and you see their "professionals" sitting in lawn chairs falling asleep counting cars when there either is no traffic or at a time when there will be no traffic to speak of like late mornings or holiday weekends. They are the experts, don't question their motives or abilities.

I am amazed at how hyperbolic some of the statements are here. I have lived in Arnold for years and have been quite proud of that fact, but after one visit on this forum, I believe I may change my mind.

Progress, you make comments like "Want to know what it will look like in 10 years just take a drive along Broadway right on up to downtown. All we need now is a Metrolink station next to Lee's chicken..." It's nice to know that the old school stereotypical racist bigot is still alive and kicking. Nothing says "bring your business here" like a little discrimination.

And as far as the other post who said that Jeffco and 141 is "every driver's nightmare"...what are you talking about! It's an intersection, and a mildly frustrating one at that. I pass through that intersection twice a day at rush hour, and not once have I contemplated taking my own life as a result.

Boo hoo...Arnold is growing and maybe they are receiving some TIF money to do it, but if it doesn't come here, it will go somewhere.

And by the way...."no trees or land". As soon as you cross the bride from south county, we have a freaking park. Open your eyes....there are trees everywhere.

I'm assuming you really don't shop much in Gravois Bluffs. The lights are short so people are constantly running them. No one pays attention to the stop signs posted within the plaza so you better watch where you're driving.
What shops we have here are easy to get to. I have lived in Arnold for almost 40 years and I find it sad that what people are labeling as "old timers" are upset about the progress the town is making. Before everyone starts complaining about what they assume will be a problem to the area why don't they look at the good thing it could bring.
