Six Figure Settlement in Ott Case
Get Over Yourselves

All I saw there was blah, blah, blah, blah.

I've heard it all before. The thing is the voters got tired of your rhetoric. They saw no action. They voted you OUT! They spoke by their vote and would rather have the corruption over you. What does that say about you? To me it says that the voters hated you so much that they would rather put up with the corruption you say there is. Get over yourself. The voters didn't want you. You had plenty of chances to get it publicized. Face it, even knowing about the parks director they still decided to vote for corruption over you. It speaks wonders.

The truth is that you all don't even tell the truth yourselves all of the time. You all are just as bad as who is in there, if not worse (which according to the vote the voters must think you are).

You lost, move on.

You admit there is corruption, yet you don't think anyone should do anything about it! What is wrong with you? Does truth mean nothing to you? Is it OK in your book to lie, cheat and steal as long as it's all right with everyone? It's pretty sad when the local paper just goes right along with the corruption. They don't see anything wrong with it either. Good will triumph over evil, right will triumph over wrong.

We voted the mayor in and fired the person we wanted out with our votes. Don't you get tired of twisting the truth?

Nope because we fired the real problem by voting them out in the last election.

This is about the six figure settlement paid to Officer Ott, for the heck of it, because some people think no one at the city did anything wrong, right? They pay people six figures all the time for no reason at all!

When insurance companies tell them to they do. Quit twisting the facts. Ever think that is why you weren't elected?

The citizens fired the real problem by voting them out in the last election.

The insurance company didn't step in until December 19th of 2011, from November of 2009 until then all was "being handled" in house. Up until 12/19/11 the legalities were all being handled by Sweeney. It's all in the filing. All one must do is look up the Ott case.

And why would the filing show the insurance company? Duh...

Quit grasping at straws.

Duh, the records always show the attorney making the filings. When it says Sweeney, that means he was the one making the filings. When it says Behr or others, that is the insurance company.

Did it ever occur to you that the insurance company advised Sweeney to keep doing the filings? Duh....

You're grasping at straws and looking pretty desperate. Give it up.

You really think the insurance company told the city to not turn over court ordered documents? First, hiding them cost the taxpayers almost another thousand dollars. Next, if the chief was so innocent, don't you think the city would be bending over backwards to provide documents to prove that? Instead of refusing and hiding and being court ordered and then getting fined for refusing?

They probably did. I've seen them do weirder things. The thing is you are throwing out allegations and hoping they stick. You have no proof of them. There are explanations they debunk your theories at every turn.

Go find something useful and beneficial to spend your time on. Help the community outside of criticizing the government. Work at the food pantry to make sure nobody is hungry, donate labor to building a house for someone that can't afford to pay for it, put together a program to help mentor the local youth, improve it through the citizens and then maybe people might start liking you.

Why do you only make these blind accusations from anonymous proxy? Could they be libelous and you don't want people to track you down to sue you? Just asking.

Did it occur to you that the insurance company stepped in when it was obvious that Sweeney was in too deep? Find more than one case that Sweeney has actually won for the city. He drags it out until it is painfully obvious he is going to lose, THEN he settles. All the while making sure he bills hour after useless hour to the taxpayers litigating something that could have been settled much earlier and easier had he not been trying to make as much money as he can off of the city. Look at the following cases, Ozark Bridge, Imperial Motors, Affholder, MKG Construction. How many times have you read how great of a case the city has only for a big settlement to be paid out later on? Time and time again. People don't forget, in case they do, let's remind them. You do not get to dictate how people spend their time or efforts. People are still allowed to choose how they spend their own time, thank you. This isn't a popularity contest it is a challenge of right over wrong, truth over lies.

Then according to your logic the voters picked right over wrong. They voted out the wrong and the lies.

I challenge you to prove your statements about Sweeney. No proof posted will make those libelous statements.

Keep in mind that you were fired by the voters. They used their votes to fire you by voting you out. The voters spoke now quit trying to overrule what they want. Do what you preach about listening to the citizens.

And as far as giving suggestions about where to spend your time, you're the one constantly telling people to shut up and get off of here and quit posting. So I can say whatever I please, too. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. But then you don't like that whole playing fair thing, do you?

This is about a six figure settlement paid to Officer Ott. If one reads the lawsuit they will see why she was awarded that sum of money. It's all in there. If the city had a case they would put their proof out. As it stands they and the insurance company tucked their tail between their legs and paid up! Plain and simple.$450,000 and the offending officer and his superior retain their jobs and salaries, what a travesty.
