Would like information on the history of Arnaudville. In the 1940's and 50's Arnaudville was a thriving community. 3 or 4 dance halls, a movie theater, stores, etc. What happened?

Drugs, police department that has been a laughing stock for close to a full decade... shall I go on?
These two things always seem to go hand in hand. The current police department says there is no drugs in town.

I'm sorry I posted this. I thought I would get some feedback that would be insightful. Maybe even some suggestions on how to restore some glory back to the old town. However, I see by the postings that most of the responders are under the age of 15. Again, I'm sorry to have wasted the time of some people who would like to have meaningful discussions.

Sorry if my post offended you, but those are the sad, hard facts. Even when I was a kid there, Arnaudville still had a soul, and some redeeming qualities left. Drugs laid hooks into Arnaudville when I was a teenager, followed by the reign (of terror) of a certain police chief. At the same time, the election (and re-election) of the joke of a mayor that is in office now, and other events have led to the ruin of the once proud Cajun town. Something as simple as the art movement, which could have brought so much culture, pride, and positive attention to the town, were opposed by certain buffoons there. What should have been a mini renaissance for Arnaudville ended in utter disaster. Things like this are the reason Arnaudville will never again be great.
