Recession? Teenagers get it, and they're cutting back

It's great that teenagers are learning that everything in this life has to be paid for with money. Why don't they understand that the same applies to their public education? Why were they protesting education cuts in Calif? Why all the uproar over the 30% tuition hike at UCLA? Don't they understand that my property taxes are a disaster and the state of Calif. is bankrupt? There are more colossal education cuts coming and if they continue to protest that means they still think money grows on trees.
