Why are these posts so old, or why can't I find a recent one? Same thing happened last night 5/14/11, and can't find a thing...

I'm glad I'm not the only one... I called the police last night. I'm at Bowen and I-20... I could see flashes... near the end there was a series of them like fireworks... but I never saw fireworks...It almost sounded like mortar fire...This seems to be the only place I've seen any postings... Nothing on the news and nothing on the internet... STRANGE... I did not find anything concerning "Fireworks in North Texas" last night either... They were very loud. Someone has to know something more...

DDD, this all happened a couple years ago, and I for one never really bought off on the fireworks explanation. There were two 'incidents', one was about a ufo sighting. I don't know what that was all about. But the thing I SAW was a huge column of sparks, about 100' or so high, within 1/2 mile of my house. The sound was extremely strange, very loud, rythmic booms. Not thunder, not fireworks. As far as I know I'm the only one who saw it. NOT FIREWORKS. But, the 'official' explanation was fireworks at a nearby racetrack. What happened at your place on 5/14?

i saw the bright explosions at about 9:30. i live in s. e. arlington and they were dew west of me. they lit up the whole sky. i have no idea what they were but i wounder if they had anything to do with the gas wells all over town... maybe a burn off of some of the crap that comes up after fracking.. they get rid of it some how..

yeah around the same time the rest of ya'll heard it we were lying in bed when we heard a noise. we thought tehre was gunshots on our street but then we started thinking about it why would a criminal be shooting at this late with what sounded like a shotgun? a few nights later we heard it again and had the exact same sound. this time it came with a flash. once again we looked outside and saw everyone out there checking. we are not jumping to conclusions but this all seems alittle too suspicious for our likeing. we live near I-20 so we were fairly close to th eleged UFO if there is any proof that this is a UFO then th residents should be the first to know and if this is a UFO then why are we living a mile away from it? just saying but if there is more conclsive evidence it should be posted here so we can draw a conclusion> Thank you for your time :)

Just conjecture, but the descriptions sound like some type of ramjet drone, which we do have in our arsenal now. Ramjets are propelled by a series of explosions for thrust. If that's what it was, it would explain the sonic booms, the delta shape, and the feds being on the scene.

Well, I don't know about the UFO thing, that was a separate incident that has been getting confused with the loud booms. No one else has described what I saw, which was a large column of sparks, with extremely loud, rythmic booming. It was very close to my house near I-20 and 287. It woke me up, I looked out the window and saw the spectacle. Not a UFO, but something strange anyway. I wondered if it could be a gas well exploding. But no. I have seen large fireworks displays, and this was nothing like that. Not a gas well flaring. Who knows, it was something I can't forget. I drove aroung my neighborhood for an hour trying to see if something was on fire. Nothing.

the direction of the explosions and bright flashes was SW of I-20, 287 area. that is near I-20. just don't know about the ufo thing, but the sound and sight of the explosions was very strange. especially the sound
I live in the same area but I think it's all the drilling going on that's making the noise.

I am inclined to think it was a gas well 'incident', but I drove by the particular well that would be in that direction that night (Aug-09), and all was quiet, no one there. The wells are all around here, though. And true, too, the drilling IS making a lot of noise.

I just showed my husband the video and right away he identified it! What you saw was the lids off industrial /chemical waste vats! We we laughing all the way home from our friends' apt where we watched the video - he cannot believe people thought it was a UFO! He has seen these things and that is 100% what it was.
Your husband sounds brilliant. Mind asking him why there isn't a sign on the back of the truck that says "wide load"? They must have been in a crazy hurry to transport these chemical waste vats...

And the pictures are grainy... he honestly 'cannot believe people thought' elsewise... I would fire you if I supervised the operation you were a part of.

I don't hate you, because ultimately, you're the equivalent of a TSA agent... I'm sure you sit in an office doing crap like this all day and getting paid 30-40k a year to be a dis-informant. But you've got to 'play the game' and make a living, so I get it... but unfortunately. Logic trumps.

I live in Kennedale just south of I-20 and 287. I was watching a movie at about 12:40 when I heard the booms, met the neighbor outside and watch a very fantastic fireworks show that lasted for about 15 minutes. It was abnormally loud, but a great display nonetheless.
As far as the Big Lots/Panchos parking lot, there was some kind of vigil going on for somebody that died along the highway there; saw the cross and flowers that next morning as I was getting onto the highway.
Not sure about the "UFO" being an F35 since most would be shipped out of Carswell rather then go all the way to DFW Airport. It was more likely a blade from a wind turbine. If you've ever seen one being transported, you'd know that they are freakishly large and "alien" looking.
Just my thoughts... we'll see these reports again next year during the annual Kennedale Racetrack fireworks show. Just be sure to check em out next time. It's great!
This one is great... it's well written and seems pragmatic; we get the sense we're dealing with a well-educated man. Kudos, but it's like 'robot' good... you're establishing a time frame immediately to establish some context. You met a 'neighbor'... so now it's not just you, but another witness... add emotional tag "a great display nonetheless."

Add emotional tag and plot details... "vigil going on for someone that died"...(extra points for this one) ok sweet, you've taken care of the fireworks and the parking lot... now let's add some skepticism. "Not sure about the UFO being.." and here you sprinkle some details about bases, where it might go... mmmm this guy just knows his stuff, doesn't he? And if they were transporting these large blades, again, we'd have the 'wide load' signage... why not pay for a $10 sign, but pay for all the cop cars? That is really odd?

Also, nice touch saying that the blades are "alien looking"...

Oh and then end with how the fireworks show is again "great" and people should check em out next year...

Seriously... I would fire you too. This is such an effort that it reeks of BS. You guys are lucky you deal with a heavily uneducated public because I would simply not tolerate this kind of shit if I was in charge of dis-info and propaganda.

The video is NOT anything military or a UFO people! I just said my husband has SEEN these exact things before and immediately identified them as the lids to huge industrial/chemical waste disposal vats! And the escort and closing is necessary - they are 2 lanes wide (if they had shown the backs of the white vans in the rear you would have seen wide load signs').
I believe the noises were fireworks bc somebody reported watching the display at the racetrack, and said it was abnormally loud.
I thought you were fired... Oh yea, this happened a while ago... but it's still funny. Let's clear this up, you and your husband literally have laughed hard about how 'people could believe this was a UFO'... and felt it prudent to say that in an earlier comment... and then you hang around... and you then add this?

You come across as one of those fanatical Christians trying to tell people things about God, faith, etc... it just doesn't come off as logically sound... this fanaticism kills your post because no one would care that much, especially considering the evidence at hand. It's grainy footage and a LOT of conflicting witness testimony... is someone proofing your press before you submit?

And where is your account of the white vans emanating from? Were you suddenly on this highway?

And then you top it off by reference 'someone else's' report of watching fireworks...

Sorry, you're just bad at this and you might want to find another job.

jkm,i was in ok on sep 3, but not near idabel. But where i was near ft. sill, we hear louds booms all the time.....but, i did see orange orbs fly out of the fireworks and fly directly over my head about 5oo ft up, then travel several miles. I looked at them through the binoculars and they were solid black spheres with orange glow on the bottom. Made no sound whatsoever. No wings, no strobe lights.

Ft Worth had explosions captured on video on 5/10/2011 where supposedly transformers were struck by lightening and ATMOS was busy restoring power through to the next evening.....but what I am getting at is that all the natural gas drilling here in the Barnett Shale has an enormous amount of methane in our ambient air. Now our state TCEQ doesn’t test for methane (Louisiana does though). During the FT Worth ERG one million dollar air study, it was reported that Ft Worth has 2-5 times the methane than our world background levels...so during lightening storms or during fireworks...anything can spark these methane pockets...I live, breathe, and blog in BarnettShaleHellwordpress.com , Arlington TX.
