I support this lady in her wish to see the Genocide recognized by the US gov. Unfortunately, the US has too much at stake in itt's relationship with Turkey to do that. What a shame.

Lets just keep the U.S. out of this. We can't get involved in anymore disputes outside of this country.
Besides, there are two sides to this story that happened many, many years ago.

Citizen:

You're awfully naive if you think the US doesn't "get involved" in disputes outside this country. We do all the time. Should we ignore what's happening in Darfur because it's "outside the country"?

You are correct that there are two sides to this story. There is the truth, which is widely acknowledged by any legitimate historian, and there are the lies spread by the Turks, who rely on dupes like you to accept the garbage they're peddling.

Hey Citizen...
What other side of the story can justify killing millions of people! What ...do you think they just killed themselves and then blamed it on the Turks?!?!? And...time does not erase or nullify what happened! You must be ignorant or a Turk yourself! Gobble gobble!

If someone thinks that by ignoring the Armenian Genocide he keeps the US out of it he is wrong.

I tell him/her that by not condemning the Armenian Genocide the US becomes more involved in it, because it becomes an accomplice because Genocide is an ongoing long term crime which keeps active as long as it is not recognizd and condemned.

So beware whoever thinks he/she avoids headache by ignoring any genocide, because headache will reach him but this time right to his own doorsteps.
Humanity is one body and countries are its parts , can you ignore what happens to your foot or hand just because you're an eye or a mouth or even a head.

my hairig and myrig tearfully related similar horror stories that degin Mazmanian tells and which Amb. Morgantheu verified. Such horrors usually shielded by the sanctity of national borders, rogue govts and stale docile diplomacy. The only hope is more effective UN and a new UR (United Religions)--a longahot but the only chance. All people must realize animal behavior is passe!

The Genocide happened, the Turks did it and refuse to admit it and the US will never recognize that fact till them pull their bases out of Turkey.
What's that old saying...? "Politics makes strange bedfellow...." Apt and so obvious in this case and has lasted almost a century.

I am touched by this article. As the grandson of a survivor, my grandmother passed away in 1983. She caould barely discuss the horrors she saw - her sister raped and taken away. Marched through the desert, passing dead bodies that were either killed by the turks or dead from the death march. My grandmother no longer can speak the horrors she saw. I am thankful that we still have a survivor amongst us. The only question is when will the US Govt hear those voices and recognize this genocide....
