Okay guys if you haven't read WILLIAM DID KNOW HOW TO SWIM!
We did find out why he drown. William had a massave heart-attack.
So I would just like to thank every single @$$ hole who thought he was such a bad kid and should die. Because, all of you were wrong. I hope all of you just learned your lesson. It's your loss that you never got the chance to meet this young man. For many of us he changed our lives. He was a brother, a friend, a son, and a loyal companion. Yes, he could've prevented this by not hopping the fence but seriously guys.. we've all made mistakes just give the poor guy a break.
Alex again I am sorry for your loss but you should correct your post! I totally agree there were a lot of really mean and heartless posts on here, but they were not all bad! Once again RIP Will!!!

Yes, this happens if you do not know how to swim... MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY WERE TREPASSING... They climbed a fence to gain access to the pool.. big mistake. Use a hose to cool off and the friends should go in twos next time they feel like dipping in a pool.
it said there were 6 kids.
"William Ugoka, 14, was one of six youths who climbed a fence about 6 p.m. to gain access to the pool, in the 2100 block of South Tonne Drive, where one of his friends lived. The group had a key to open the gate to the pool, but it didn't work, police said."

This is such a tragic story.
I can't beleive some of the cold hearted people that leave heartless comments and passing judgement on someone they don't even know. You don't even know the facts only what the paper printed.
I personally did not know William, but I do know Grant and if William is anything like Grant he was a good kid from a nice family.
My deepest sympathy to the family.

Most all teens do stupid stuff with their friends...however this does not warrant berating the poor fella for his behavior. The child lost his life, be a little more compassionate. We have all done things that we would look back on and regret.

Why are you all saying "remember he climbed a fence." Does that mean he deserved to drown?

So very sad......again.
There are MANY more you don't read about.
I never had such nerve to break the rules when I was young. Now that I'm older, however, I still try to follow most suggestions!.....My condolences, again.

No he did not deserve to die, no one ever does. Hopefully, other kids will be able to learn from the loss of Will, that entering into a closed pool is not safe. This is why all of the complex pools in the area have locked gates, and signs that says Warning No Lifeguard On Duty. If the gate is locked, then the pool is not open. All kids are to be supervised in the pool area by an adult. Rest in Peace Will.

Remember he was a 14 yr old boy and and won't be waking his mom up for his first day of summer. He was a great kid. I am a mom of a 14 yr old daughter and whether he should have been near the water or whether he was a good kid or not...shame on all of you who judged him now. He was such a sweet boy who made a mistake that can't be corrected. Are you perfect? He was a KID. It was a matter of minutes..and he was gone. He sat right in front of me at graduation 4 days ago and today I feel like I can't breathe. It could have been my daughter because noone and I mean NO ONE knows what really happened. You should just have the families in your hearts so that if it ever comes around...What part of They are just kids don't people understand?

We used to see this in Phx all the time because of the proliferance of pools - it increased the property value, so they said. A mother would turn her back for 15 seconds, kids would get through 2 layers of fences and an electronic sensing device, and then there would be a little body floating in the pool. Poor kid. Poor mother.

Where did these kids "graduate" from? The spelling on their posts is horrible. Kids...It is a tragedy...It is too bad...It shouldn't have happened or been a big deal, but there comes a point where you need to take responsibility for your actions. One day you will understand, when you have assets of your own, that what he did is wrong. He went somewhere he should not have been, and now they may have to deal with litigation, press, etc., because of his actions.

I so need to know. I can't find anything that said he died of a heart attack. I have cried all day today. It's stupid I know. But heart attack verses drowning seems a little comforting. Less, I dont' know torture. My daughter said he sat behind her in class and wrote a poem for him. And it's just crushing me. And the things people say. Omg. I can't believe. I guess I can..but dont' want to. Where did humanity go? If kids only knew that tomorrow might not come and that they don't have to shun the new kid to be cool. And sometimes kids are queit because they are just as afraid of you as you are of them.
I don't know.

Drmickvee..seriously why do you care? You must be a lawyer with no kids or a plastic surgeon out for your next buck. They are kids. He wasn't drinking. He wasn't doing drugs. I own my own home. Where is your humanity?
