Waukegan teen charged as adult in fatal shooting outside home

Its good that poor Miguel has friends posting here. I just have an honest question..where were you all when he needed your help or guidance? It's always the "after thought" when he's dead that people want to talk about how great he was.

I dont know Miguel or Edgar but my 15 year old knows Edgar from Abbott middle school. When I heard of the sad news of a 15 year old shooting an 18 year old it brought tears to my eyes. The feeling was so overwhelming that I had to pass by the street that Edgar shot him, and the street where they found Miguel lying helpless. The story is sad no matter if they were in a gang or well bought up kids. They are both kids, who probaby did not have much positive guidence, was looking for an outlet and the streets where wide open. Edgar picked up that gun and made the choice to shoot and kill Miguel and not thinking that he will get caught and pay with his own life. Remember that on April 25th Miguels life was taken away but so was Edgar's. Miguel will never know what its like to go clubbing at 21, have the opportunity to maybe change his gang life earlier than late, or even become a father. Miguel will never get to enjoy the summer breeze, have fun playing sports with his friends, or even getting married. But remember, Edgar lost his child hood, he wont be able to celebrate his 18th or even his 21th birthday with family and friends. And even though he will some day feel the breeze of a hot summer day, and reunite with his family, Edgar will have to live with the guilt of killing another person for the rest of his life. People will always judge him for that. No matter what, both families will suffer, and Miguel and Edgars friends are hurting of the loss for both boys. My heart goes out to both families, and close friends who knew Edgar and Miguel. I just wish everytime I think about them that I would have a picture of both boys in my head. Nobody deserves to die like that, life is so damn precious I just want to slow things down every now and than and enjoy what life offers because we are only here once and thats it.

Oh trust me, he was changing his ways. He got more and more involved with church, and helping out younger kids. He was the boy scout leader, and did he get paid for that? NO.
He made time for helping out the younger kids, when he could have been hanging around with his gang friends.
