for some one to come to his house and and try to kill him and his family and then still try and save that mans life just amazes me. I am not so sure that I could have done that.

This story rather proves that Parametics are the unsung heroes of our day. These folks save more lives than doctors do and are paid a pitence for their work. Much like nurses, they don't get the respect due them.
While the hospital doctors get huge salaries, perks, and bribes from drug reps, the parametics get maybe $9.50 an hour for being the real life savers in an emergency.

I agree, our emts need better pay, they are the ones that go out in any weather, any situation, to save peoples live. My hat is off to all of them!:) Walkitandtalkit wrote: This story rather proves that Parametics are the unsung heroes of our day. I sure would like to know the rest of the story. I went to highschool with Eric and this whole thing seems so out of charecter! If Wiremen did save his life, I am greatful for his good charecter in doing so. I want his family to know that I am praying for them during this difficult time.

I would have let him bleed out. Come to my house threatening to shoot me.....
There has to be much much more to the story.

I agree with you nearly 100%, but must ask why medic waited until the police pulled into his driveway to get his medic bag and start to work......just running around in my mind..... It isn't a far stretch to say that anymore, even when you are trying to help someone, they will accuse another of trying to hurt of kill them.

The dude came to his door with guns, I would have waited for backup too. But as stated... I would have let him bleed out.

Walkit, you are right! Hadn't thought about it that way, but that guy could turn right around and sue the medic for helping him Walkitandtalkit wrote: <quoted text> I would have to say that he was trying to protect himself from any possible law suit or accusation from the guy by waiting for the cops to be there as witnesses. I need to clarify my previous post and say specifically that I am praying for Eric and his family. As I said before, this is out of charecter for Eric and there is bound to be much more to this story.

THANK YOU "PUZZLED" .. THE WHOLE SITUATION IS SO VERY SAD .. BOTH FOR ERIC AND ERIC'S FAMILY.... AND THE WIREMAN FAMILY.. I AM SURE THERE IS MORE TO THE "STORY", BUT EVERYONE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON WHAT PUSHES PEOPLE TO THIS POINT... I ALSO WILL PRAY FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED... I WAS ERIC'S AUNT BY MY 1ST MARRIAGE AND I KNOW ERIC AS BEING ONE OF THE KINDEST PEOPLE YOU WOULD EVER WANT TO MEET...

Jason wrote: <quoted text> Please do go on.... Well, over in the thread about the student/teacher case, you are against the displine by the teacher, yet here you're saying you let someone die when you could save them just because they tried to kill you. It's rather a conflicting personality.

To sad and puzzled, thanks for your response to me. I'm so glad to know that someone else is praying too! I also have come to the conclusion that this is tragic for everyone involved and I am praying for all. I wish I knew what pushed Eric to this point because there has got to be a good explanation for this behaivor. As you said, Eric is "one of the kindest people you would ever meet" Thanks You!

It's rather a conflicting personality. If the student tried to shoot a teacher, I'd be all for slapping/beating/kicking them. "Displine" and survival are completely different. If a Jehovah's Witness came to my door, I told them to beat it, and they got hit by a car in front of my house... I'd help them. They didn't try to harm me, we just don't agree on viewpoints. I'm all for helping others, just not when they try to kill me. I just don't see the good that comes out of slapping a kid, especially when its not your kid.

Ahhhh.......but what good comes from not helping someone that tried to harm you? See where I'm coming from?

I do not see where your coming from. Comparing a kid that acts up to an adult that tries to murder you isn't even a valid arguement.

No, what I am saying is that I find it strange that you take a liberal view on corpral punishment, but, not on something like this.

I would like Eric's friend from New York and his aunt to know that you are correct: Eric is good. He has shown sincere care and concern for many many people and causes --- his 'typical' behavior before this choice was the welfare of others. I share the thought that there was a catalyst leading to his actions; while his actions are undeniably wrong. I share your concern for this individual and those who were affected by this chain of hurtful events. I join you in praying for God to care for Eric and his family and pray for those involved in creating the situation.
