Why do they run?? They will get it in the end like she did. How dumb some people are she gave up her life for what?

Uhm, it's Plymouth Street, not Avenue. I live 2 blocks down from there on Plymouth...The street signs are all down because of water main work done last year, so it would be hard to identify the street correctly.

I am sorry to hear about such a senseless tradegy. Somehow people take their cars names literally "Dodge Magnum" fast speed. Such a waste at 20 years old.

My prayers go out to the family,of this women.

That street only goes one more block before coming to a T at Villa. Either she was one block in or one block from a turn she couldn't have made at that speed anyway. It's a quiet residential street with stop signs every two blocks. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for going so fast in such a place.
So sad that this has become a common occurrence on our streets. Sad that she did this to herself through her recklessness, fortunate she didn't take anyone else with her. |

"Villa Park Police Chief John Payne released the woman's identity, but he had not returned a call Tuesday afternoon requesting further information on how the crash occurred."
funny, there are plenty of details in the sun-times' story. |

SPEED DOES NOT KILL !!
What time was it? Where was she? In what condition was she in? Why was she running from a routine traffic stop? BOTTOM LINE?: Anytime you're where you know you don't belong, or are doing things you shouldn't or at an hour where there is seldom anything constructive going on, YOU'RE AT RISK OF BAD THINGS HAPPENING TO YOU. This isn't to say that this officer should have maintained pursuit into a residential area. The radio has made pursuit, of any kind, a thing of the past, for small residential community enforcement officers. Anyone dying at 20 years of age is a tragedy, but there was someone who should have kept her from driving at that hour, in that place, in that condition and taught her that submission to an officer of the law is the rule of the house. |

Oh well!
Another underaged DRUNK driver is off the road for good. We are just lucky that this fool didn't take anyone with her on her suicide run and only damaged a tree! |

No, a tragedy would have been if she had killed someone else. This is poetic justice. |

She was just a kid and she made a huge error in judgement, no one deserves to die. |
Well, technically, speed does not kill, but the trauma caused by a high-speed impact against an object of sufficient mass does. You could also say guns don't kill (unless you beat someone to death with one), nor does jumping out of an airplane at 30,000' without a parachute. Bullets and the resultant sudden deceleration when you hit the ground kill. Speed is a great contributor in vehicular deaths. If she ran into the tree going 5 mph, she'd just be another DUI.... |

One less ethnic to worry about in Billa Parque. Can't say I'm sorry, can't say I care, can only say better her than me. In this life you pay your money and you takes your chances, she took hers and lost. Chaulk up another one to bad judgement, why do you think they have drinking laws that say "must be at least 21 to consume alcoholic beverages", oh well. Waste of a nice car though. Heartless

Yes, how cleaver of the traffic cop to chase an intoxicated driver until the vehicle really speeds up and crashes into something - or someone. Why have I been under the impression that "cop chases" were taboo? Better to have tried to stop this driver by other means. She's dead. Case closed.
