lack of goverment help for single parent fathers

i haved been divorced from 1986, i have rased my two kids, and now i have rased my oldest grandson so far, he is a gift from god to me, all i know is being a dad, so thank god my daughter gave me him,,,guess she is a little like her mom,,but thank god i got him , i have had him from birth, he is my no. 2 son,,, i love hom,,,all of you may cry but i am happy i had the chance to raise my kids alone,,, we did not need her,,,thank GOD

I agree with you guys 100%. Thats what I started my website and organization www.singlefather-doublestandard.com . We have a long road ahead of it..but we'll get there. Times are changing and society, along with the government, need to realize this and act accordingly. take care!

yes I agree, for there is no help for Single Dads.
As for me I have custody of two wonderfull kids,
11 and 9. I was granted Child support but only recieving $50.00 per child. My Baby sitter who is a woman only has one child 6 and is recieving $276.00 a month. But to make things worst I have to pay $350.00 a month for allamony for my now x wife. Where in Gods name am I recieving any support from here when I recieve child supprt
I then have to take that money to pay here allamony. The best for Last The courts ordered me to pay here additional $2500.00, After I Just paid $2300.00 for the Divorce. And the Icing on the cake she left me, not that I was a bad Husband
Just one of those out with her friends at the bar
And went home with another guy. So this is no advise just maybe someone can offer me some advise on where I can get some help...

i see here there alot of men going thru the same things i am going thru drug addicted wife no support for a single dad. help for men is like pulling teeth from a shark while its still swimming. yes im a week from eviction and yes my bills are all a month behind or more. while my wife is selling her ass at the strip club and stealing our food stamps and wic for the baby. i am meeting nothing but closed doors. i am disabled with nercotic degenrative arthritus and ssi has denied me two times in a row. the daily stress of not knowing where we will be or how to make ends meet is overwhelming at the same time i cant let my kids see how close i am to the edge,

what must be done for people to understand that just cause i am a man i dont have all the anwsers to this problem. at some point your friends and family cant help you then what. well there are some non profits out there finding them is the problem and getting help is another thing the only advise i can give is to call your local state office make an apointment and find out exalty all the programs available. you will not be given any information unless you ask for it.

there is also going the child and family services. no one wants to involve DCF in there life but when there is nothing else to do you do what you must, most states have cordinated child care dcf will foot most of the bill for 90 days in that time if you are able to work u can find somthing. also food stamps and emergeny housing is available if u get on the list there is a waiting period in most cases up to a year so dont wait get you name in there asap. the hardest part of being a single father is asking for help the second is getting it.....

Iam a single father I have custody of my daughter. She is 9 and I will be 33 this June. I have custody of my daughter sense the age of 1. And I do agree it is a bias govrment and a racial goverment. If there is aid for single fathers they sure do a good job of not letting us know and if there is any I am sure it is nothing like a woman would get. We are not asking for much just enough to get us back on our feet. For me that is all I need and I am sure that is what most of us men want just enough help to get us on our feet so, our children do not have to go with out. IF THE GOVERMENT DONT HELP US WE SHOULD COME TOGETHER AND HELP EACH OTHER IF POSSIBLE

I wish the government would offer the same assistance to single fathers it does to mothers.I am a single father of a 3,7,10 year old the mother has no child support because she chooses to work only part time.when we first seperated I was made to pay her $1575.00 a month,why is it fair for the fathers to be crushed with child support when the mothers get away with murder? I make too much to even get my children reduced lunches at school but at the end of the month there is still no money left how is this fair?Dont get me wrong I will sell my soul if it means that my kids have everything they need but its time that the government see that there are some good fathers out here and would greatly appreciate some help .

I am also a single father of a 7 yr old little girl. I don't get any child support from my ex. I tried to find help as well. Society hasn't quite figured out that fathers are parents too and that most of us are just as good, if not better, than moms. We need help too. I don't have all the answers, but I have created a web site for single fathers. I am trying to make a central point where we can all gather and help each other. Because I need to make money, I am working over the summer to make a chunk to last me for a few months after summer is over. I apologize that there isn't a lot to the site at the moment, but in the fall, I will be working extensively on the site. I could use all of your help with suggestions, stories, ideas, tips, any links to areas of help, etc. etc. etc. The more I can get from all of you, the more I can help all single fathers! check the internet.... and wic.... and healthy start.... lots of programs for moms... none for dads.....
