How is THAT possible..when ya have to dress in replica clothing of that period? Not like you are going to have a sidekick holding an umbrella over ya..when ya are on horseback..sword fighting. Or as you approach from the rear..a bucket of cold water will be splashed on ya. Or having barrels of Gatorade about to quench your thirst...Now THAT should be on the agenda..afterall a commander does take care of his men..

I find the many 300lb reenactors to be quite authentic and yet amusing at the same time

Chick, I know there is lots of water available at the re-enactment for the participants. And they even have folks in period clothing in the field to distribute water, that will not detract from the appearance of the event for the observers.
The problem is, that even though it is available, you canít make them drink. Unfortunately many become so involved in what they are doing, and wanting to put on a good show that they forget about themselves.
