Adams County no place for sleazy casino

Once again I'm perplexed and dismayed to hear that David LeVan has not given up his pipe dream of building a casino in Adams County.

You, monument sniffers, are what ruin the area for locals that have lived here all their lives.

You move here and now you want to make the rules for everyone. I'm sure Mr. LaVan and his wife did more for Gettysburg that you and your friends will ever do. I have an easy fix for you MOVE

If you don't like it move back to where you came from. At least LeVan is trying to bring something to the area. How do you like having those high taxes? And half the town exempt? Bring it on!

If you do not like people moving to the area and making new rules for everyone, maybe you should be the one to move.

This is controversial and people are aloud to have opinions and express them. If you do not like their opinion state your particular point of view and leave it at that. Telling people to move is ridiculous.

You say you don't want to see a casino in Adams County. Would you be satisfied if it were across the line in Maryland or up in Dauphin County or are you just opposed to a casino anywhere?

Jamie, please move as quickly as possible. Just go away, the quicker the better. I take offense when people who move here and want things "thier" way make statements like "we don't want it" STOP saying we, you do not speak for me, nor do you speak for the majority of Adams County voters. Just read the comments here, all, I repeat all opinions are pro racino. Yes we want the racino, live with it or move.

You pro-casino clowns are absolutely clueless about what you are supporting. Do you actually believe that if a "racino" is built, then the community would actually see any of the money generated by it? Talk about delusional! And the attitude of the pro-casino folks on this forum has been simply despicable. If you all had your way, then you'd dig up the bodies in the National Cemetery, bulldoze the battlefield, put a big strip mall on it, and turn Adams County into Montgomery County, Maryland. Is that what you want? And as for resenting someone who moves to Adams County just to get away from the city and to enjoy the quiet simple life of a rural environment, and then see fit to express his opinion on a big issue that could irreversibly alter that environment, you just can't get any pettier than that. I think you all are the ones that need to move, since all you seem to care about are illusionary dollars that a "racino" won't bring in.

To tell the truth, I don't think a racino could succeed around here. With the economy the way it is, who around here has disposable income to spend there? As for drawing people from "the big city", most of them say that the sidewalks close up at 9pm around here...there's nothing for them to do.

No Freedom Twnshp Res., we do not want to bulldoze anything. What we should have done was stopped all developements in the late 80s until present. Then we would have all the idiots from Maryland, D.C., and elswhere that moved here. Our taxes would be alot lower because we would not have to provide all the services you idiots required.

Yo Dude....LeVan "is" where he came from. He is a gettysburg native. Before you start shooting your mouth off over things you know little about, get some facts.

No "DC Resident" you are clueless. The "Clowns" in Adams County know what the benefits will be. If you don't like it move to Georgetown.

I'm sorry Jamie, you must have the inside information. Route 15 and Steinwehr Avenue is the location ? I would sell your property, get out of town now before the raping, and pillaging and drug infested casino operation diminishes your property value... Go Quickly !!!!!

I'm not a DC resident, "Dick." I'm just down her on business today. I live in Freedom Township and neither me nor any of my neighbors want a casino here either. You pro-casino jerks have no idea about what you are asking for, your arguments about how a casino would improve life in Adams County are totally phony to the max.

For your info bub, I live in an old farm house in Freedom Township and need no county services, period. You obviously don't have a clue about what you are talking about, like most of the other pro-casino people here.
