Stay home people why do you want to cause all this trouble. I went to the store around 3:30 and had no problem with 4whl drive but the roads were very bad then. Even with snow plows they were still very icy. Common sense tells you don't go out. I knew I was pushing it a little then but I knew it would only be getting colder so I better go while I could. I saw a line of cars on 180 west going into town slowly and a snow plow behind them. Up on the hill passed Rio de Arenas mobile park were red flashing lights, I knew they were helping someone then and couldn't wait to get home. Home is where I'm staying until this is over. It just keeps snowing more and more so people please stay home. Don't break your family's hearts by getting hurt or worse or hurting someone else.

Happy New years to you! I agree with you and when we went to play at Ft. Bayard it was less than a mile drive, and we made sure not to pull out of the light until all stopped, and wished the ones who run the light safe travels. I can't wait to get the chains off the truck.

No can do. I have big plans to go out later tonight and since it's New Year's Eve, I'll probably have a few belts. I grew up in North Dakota so I have lots of experience driving in this muck. The main thing is to keep moving along at a good clip so as not to get bogged down. Black ice is best handled by driving quickly through it before you have a chance to slide and if you do skid, always steer in the direction of the skid.
