Who ever did that to that dog needs to be hung in front of the court house, but only after he is stoned and whipped. What a sad world we live in for this to have happened..

Was this dog shot in his own yard? Was he running the streets like a Coyote? Whats the story.

Shooting the dog either way is wrong, but if he was running the streets the owners should be fined!!! they are just as guilty.

You seem to me like the same person who added your comments to the previous thread regarding Larry's murder. To reply to this comment......Coyotes, mountain lions, wolves and javalena "run our streets" out here. It's MAN that I have to protect dogs from. Our home and Puppy Dog Ranch is located outside of Silver City on a deadend dirt road shared by 10 neighbors who all knew and loved Larry. Our entire 7+ acres has been fenced for 4 1/2 years, since the day I purchased the raw land. The $13,000 fence is our second fence, making our entire property double fenced ~ a $26,000 investment (please re-read my comments on the previous thread). Our friends, neighbors and volunteers join us in doing all of the butt-busting hard work every weekend. Unfortunately this 2nd fence also isn't made of bulletproof metal.
Larry was shot at close range with a 9mm handgun. The bullet entered one side of his neck and exited out the other side. He had absolutely no chance of surviving such a fatal attack. I am kindly inviting you to come out to Arenas Valley and help us put up the second layer of fence. We could always use another set of helping hands. If you would like more details regarding Larry's murder, please feel free to email me at [email protected] Sincerely, Laurie West, Kevin Rodriguez and all of our dogs at Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity. http://www.puppydogranch.org

Elkstine, you might want to get the details before making such a harsh statement. Was dog running loose, threatening someone, did it have a past of being a nuisance? I am glad you don't appear to live near me as I see you would torture and kill humans but are sympathetic to dogs? You have an interesting set of morals.

So, aquafina, you agree with torture and murder of people, but not dogs? Simple question I asked earlier. So I ask again, "Is it OK to kill and torture humans but dogs are off limits?" That was what the other poster proposed.
And I am still waiting for the answer to the question asked by HMMMMM. Was the dog running loose or was it in the fenced yard?

Who would profit most from this shooting?
Somebody with a screw loose who drove all the way out there to an area unfamiliar to kill a dog they didn't know was there. OR, a charity that relies on donations and has too many animals cutting into their profits?
A small sacrifice, perhaps, for large donations.
The dog is the victim, I don't trust the people.

The dog was most likely shot by the owners, for profit.

Lot's of people hard up for money. Charities would kill their own mothers for a buck, a dog is nothing to them.

This story probably brought in a lot of ill gotten gains.

I want animal control to investigate this puppy mill.

I think it is obvious that the Puppy ranch has a fence, but they let the dog run around and annoy non dog lovers anyway.

Thats at least how i see it

Leash/restrain your dogs
Obey the Grant County leash laws
A dog cannot be "murdered" as dogs are personal property under NM law
The law places most of the duties on you as owner, to protect the public from nuisances and trespassing of dogs
Stop your sniveling and whining and follow the law

Good grief, you are a heartless turd, aren't you! Just because the dog was not leashed or restrained is no excuse to shoot and kill the poor thing. You are a creep in the worst sense!

Really!! You have no idea how much damage loose domestic dogs do to our property and livestock. Trespassing dogs are fair game under Grant County Leash law if they are damaging property or livestock. I may be a turd, but if your loose dog comes on my ranch and does damage it is toast and I am completely with in the law. Its interesting that this woman could get so many people stirred up and feeling sorry for her and her roaming dog when she is the one breaking the law. Dogs are personal property under NM law and under Grant County leash law must be leashed or fenced at all times. Period, no exceptions!! Those laws exist for a reason, to protect the rest of us from unthinking dog owners. So, I will gladly except your slur, but keep your dog restrained. And off my ranch.
