My condolences to the family. How sad. And folks, let's try and not get tacky here. This is very sad. This family could likely use all the love energy we can send them.

John Paul was a good friend of mine. He was a loving husband and father. He was just full of life and energy. He will be greatly missed. God is lucky to have this person in his kingdom. May God Bless his family.

Add my condolences. Motorcycles are fun, but there is an element of danger in them. He will be missed by all.

Ms. Steele the article regarding the tragic death of John Paul sadly did state the facts regarding his death. The part regarding the charges that WERE DROPPED was totally unnecessary, and very insensitive. Please explain what one had to do with the other.

Agreed. Completely tactless. Nonetheless, his memory will outshine all the negativity. May his family find comfort in such a trying time. RIP Mr. Amador.

In a time of tragedy, you missed your mark on this one Ms. Steele. Why don't you focus on the tradegy that this has caused his family and community? It's a shame that this was even mentioned in the article!

just to show you how dangerous Motorcycles are, you all need to wear helmets and slow way down. I see this all the time in Arenas valley..they dart in and out and drive so fast that you don't even have time to react. Its only when something happens does anyone really notice this dangers of Adult Toys.

What does this have to do with J.P.'s death. It did not have to be mentioned and completely irrelevent to the fact that a good man lost his life. He is gone and yet you media people are just trying to drag his name in the dirt. No respect.

Yes we all understand how dangerous motorcycles are, but FYI, Miss Jane Doe, he wasn't in Arenas Valley and speeding wasn't involved, he failed to see a turn. Please get the facts straight before you start your judgments.

Are you implying that Mr. Amador deserved to die because he rode a motorcycle?? People who ride motorcycles get into accidents all the time. Not because of were they are driving or how they drive. This is the reason that they are called ACCIDENTS!

Take it easy on Christine Steel! As soon as I read the article, I was trying to remember where I knew the victim's name from. FORTUNATELY, Christine filled in the blanks and I didn't go on wondering if he was a sex offender or something worse!

It's NEWS.

As a cousin and friend of John Paul I am extremely saddened by the fact that you couln't leave it alone. Did you really need to throw the words sex offender in your post? John Paul was a great person and someone that everyone would be lucky to have in their lives. Unless you know what you are speaking on, maybe you shouldn't speak on it. My condolences sincerely go out to his mother, wife and children. God is good and John Paul is a great asset to him.

It is news. Ms Steele's job is to report, not to filter the news to avoid hurting feelings. Since many will remember the name associated with the jail incidents, it was very sensitive of her to mention that the charges were dropped.

To the family and friends of John Paul Amador:
Please accept my apologies if you saw my reporting as insensitive for mentioning that the previous charges against him in the jail boxing case were dropped.
We had reported on that case numerous times since 2008 and his name was mentioned and I felt a responsibility to include that his name was cleared in the event someone remembered his name from reading it in connection with that case.
We at the Sun-News are truly saddened by his death and our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
Sincerely,
Christine Steele

YES! I did have to throw that in there. If you are, in fact, out of town, then you have no clue what it is like to live in Silver or the frequency of reading about sex offenders in this area. So.....I was glad when Ms. Steele identified him and connected the name to the correct court case. Read my comment again and you should see that I clearly stated he WAS NOT one. So yes, you are completley right. Unless YOU know what you are speaking on, maybe YOU shouldn't speak on it.
Sorry for your loss but that in NO WAY entitles you to rip on me because of it. I was defending the article and the author of it. Not ripping on your loved one, AT ALL.
