Last night on WLOS, I noticed that they (WLOS) announced the new location of the new shelter, gave exact address and showed the building. What a smart newscast.

"“You could tell she was tired of him, the stress that he caused her,” Kelting said."

That's it...? that was her reason to shoot him 6x?

What a little pottymouth you are. I can see the reason for Fedup2's comment as while shelters are trying to keep their locations private in order to keep the other people living there safe,
WLOS goes and broadcasts it to the public announcing the address AND showing pictures of the place. How safe can the people be from their tormentors now when they they know exactly where the safehouses are?

while at the store last night, i overheard this woman talking about this and she was really upset as it seems she was playing with this clark man he had told her that he and his wife were separated. she said that she called him at work after she heard this on the news to see if it was him or not and was told the he didnt work there anymore she was saying all of this pretty loudly and i am sure i am not the only one to hear this she didn't sound like a very intellegent person either.

i dont know if this is true or not, but why should she lie? i hate it as now the child will have no parents. this is a shame that grown people cannot put aside differences for the sake of their young children.

They also said that doing it this way was a growing trend and that if they kept the place a secret, they would have to move every 2 years or so..

So what? If that is what it takes to save a life, then so be it. If a person is that much of a threat to another, then the agressive one should be shackled and one of those "We-know-where-u-are' monitors placed on them. Then shot on sight if caught hanging around one of these safe homes.

Men will be men. Women will be women. They both will fool around. Gossip is not a good thing (Speaking of intellegence????). But your comment about the kid is right on the money.

i knew both steve and debbie. i didn't know all of the details of their home life but they were nice and decent people. it really is a tragady for steve and debbie's loved ones, but you never know what goes on inside a home. it's a shame this wasn't prevented. it always seems that domestic disputes/disturbances go on and on until it is too late.

The only people who could have prevented it are Steve and Debbie. Now she must face justice through our legal system and I truly hope that justice prevails. The secondary unfortunate thing is the burden this will become on our corrections system and the taxpayers that fund it.

I really dont think so. This had to be out of hurt and anger. Just shooting not even thinking. I my self had a cheating partner and i know how much of a rage you can get into.(If he even was cheating) i would understand. Something thought out would have been one bullet while he was sleeping kinda thing.

"So what?" I thought that Helpmate was intended to be a safe haven. I didn't find it necessary to advertise it's exact location. They even gave the precise address number and showed pictures of the place.

WLOS was not the first one to broadcast the location of the shelter. There was an article in last Wednesday's newspaper that also went on to say the new shelter has steel security doors and requires a card key beyond the lobby.

Not one of us can cast the first stone! It's not quite fair to accuse a dead man of hear-say when he cannot defend himself. I'm sure that both are at fault for the domestic problems that they had.....it does take two. However, shooting someone six times is a little bit much! Our society today seems to have justification for just about everything now....even murder....I had a bad childhood, I was abused as a child, etc. No one knows what truly happened at this point...I'm sure that the police will release the results of their investigation. Sometimes we make bad choices in life and sometimes we use poor judgement....but, we still have to face the consequences! I'm sure that neither one really meant for this to happen. Bad things can happen to good people!! The best thing that any of us can do is to pray that something good some how will come out of this situation...and that God will bless and take care of this little girl who loved both of her parents!!

No one knows details; but having been in that situation I never thought about shooting the SOB; although I handle a gun really well, I handled divorce even better. You move, keep your mouth shut (keep it secret), your family helps; unlisted number, etc. As for the safe house advertisement; steel doors or not, shame on WLOS!

I agree with you. I knew Steve but had not seen him in years and people should not assume anything. He has a family & friends that are now mourning him. No one but the two of them knows exactly what happened at this point, so please have some respect for their families & other loved ones.

Everyone is making Debra into a marter of somekind an "abused woman" when infact she was the abuser. There are two sides to every story. A lot of people know the reason for the separation in the beginning was her relationship with a supervisor at the postal service where she worked and where she wrecked a man and his wife's 20 year marriage. Her plan to kill Steven was well thought out and well orchestrated. Shooting someone six times definitely means you want them dead. Debra is a very evil, deceitful and scheming person. As far as the child is concerned she would be better off without a mother who is only out for herself and cares nothing about anyone but herself. I hope the judicial system puts all of the pieces together and gives Debra what she deserves is either life without the possibility of parole or death.

She actually fired 6 x's but only struck him 5 x's. Once in the leg and 4 x's center mass... not that it really matters. Just givin the facts.
