7 charged in attack at Valleyfair

Would it be to unfashionable to bring back public lynchings?
Also, my question is, where was VF Security?
And foremost, did other patrons of the park just stand and watch? I would have jumped in and did my part to help save this poor guy and his family.
All I have to say is they better get VF lifetime season passes outta the deal.
I feel sorry for the fine upstanding blacks who have to walk through life clumped in the same class as these dirtballs. I think the punishment should have to be for these punks is to ride the corkscrew, no food no water, no bathroom breaks 24/7 for a full year or until they expire, whatever comes first, easily worth the price of admission to come watch. What a great marketing tool.

I read that VF had only 22 security officers. That's not very many for such a large facility (but it was probably sufficient until this attack). They probably had to wait until at least 8 security officers were at the scene of the attack before they could intervene (remember, they aren't cops....you can't expect them to engage a numerically superior force).

Public lynchings? Really? Do we really need to go back to time where it was okay to lynch a black man for crimes just because they were black? Nobody has to be lumped together because of the color of their skin. My point is that people on here make statements about black people as though the reason they are bad is because they are black. Then, we start generalizing and applying those generalizations to individuals. That's racial discrimination. Now, people who read about this story start assuming things about every black man they see.

And public torture and execution? Really? These things do not deter crime, they just encourage more human indecency. Do you think that someone who would do something like this values life enough to be deterred by a death penalty? Absolutely not. Maybe a better solution would be to put them in jail and see if you can teach them to value life. That way, at least there's a chance they might be able to teach future young black men to value life more. Just a thought...

That's horrible, when you can't even go to a place like valleyfair without this happening. I hope those kids go to jail for a long time for what they did. All the man was doing was protecting his daughter, at least she has a great father figure on her life, something those boys probably don't have.

Hopefully, that badness is not limited to any race. Wake up people! It's our greedy, me-me-me and now-now-now society that allows this. There are pale and dark people comitting crimes everyday. We can blame welfare and gangs and rap and "tha hood" when they are black, or we can blame meth, parents who make no limits or rules,metal music and a sense of entitlement when they are white, but either way we are seeing more and more disgusting and offensive crimes every day. I used to get all upset at the racist posts, and fire back and forth about it, but I realize- IT'S ALL OF US! All of us make up "society" as it is today. It's scary to all of us that there seems to be no sense of decency among humans anymore, so in order to try to get distance from it we all want to jump and give labels. Until we all realize that, we are screwed as a people. I'm of several different races, and have had positive and negative experiences with many different races. There are bad people- no more black than white, no more rich than poor. We need to remember we are all people. Stop trying to seperate and blame- while you are busy doing that,bad people are busy doing what they do best. Seperation and racism hasn't helped crimes stop- it's in fact helped them flourish as we can all say "What color were they?" and then breathe a sigh of relief cuz "Gee, I'm not black/white/indian/asian/somal ian/gay/married/rich/poor/sing le/" STOP fooling yourselves. Until we can all grasp the simple concept that right is right and wrong is wrong regardless of who you are, we are doomed as a group and the criminals will just get bolder and worse. Now- go ahead and post how I can say what I want but you are black/white/gay/straight/somal ian/asian/fat/skinny/rich/poor /in the inner city/ in the suburbs and it doesn't affect you or you would never..... and we can read about another terrible ridiculous crime tomorrow that effort could have prevented.

Yeah putting these people in jail is the right thing, why not use more of the tax payers hard earned money trying to "reform" them. In prison they are to busy acting tough, avoiding getting shanked and staying clear of the butt pirates to worry about being reformed. Its the same parallel as putting a fly under glass when you finally set them free they go right back to spreading their filth. There is no solution, it is way to far past correction and to far outta hand, you either live with it or exterminate the problem. Even so, I'd rather have to dance around my meaning than listen to all of the other people who flock to these boards rant, waving their chosen slurs around like the world actually values their opinion.

Secondly, you're a bigot. The solution to this problem you speak of is not getting rid of all the black people, as you seem so convinced. I suggest the people like you ship yourselves off to some maaaaagical island where all the white people who think they're better can live together in the "peace and harmony" you think you will get by simply eliminating one factor. It's much easier to board a plane yourself than to try and round up an entire community and force them on.

This could have happened anywhere so can't blame VF for these jerks behavior. I can't understand why people just stood around as this happened. There were tons of people leaving the park at that time but no one wanted to step up to the plate. Well if I had been there I would have and I truly believe all it would have taken is one of us to say no and act upon it. I hope these felons get the third strike or whatever it takes for them to spend a long long long time in jail. With their records it's past the point of blaming it on a bad life, at this point they've made their choice and they need to pay for their actions. I feel so bad for this family, the dad who is seriously injured and the little girl, will she feel that this is her fault? That she did something wrong so her Daddy got hurt?

Or is it laws? Is that the problem?
I say if they are out in a gang, obviously causing trouble, or even looking like trouble.. arrest them, make gang activity illegal, a felony.
oh and keep the inner city kids in school all year long... no breaks. and make their parent pick them up from school and hold them accountable for curfews and such.
out after curfew? Lock em up. 8:30 PM should be curfew for the inner city.
I would gladly pay for more juvy jails.. no problem.
