Teen's fatal crash may be suicide

A two-car collision along Main Street in Blaine this week left a 16-year-old boy dead.

This is terrible. It's bad enough he felt he had no other solution than to die, but to do it in such a way that another innocent person could have been permanently injured or even killed is wrong. I work at a hospital in St Paul, and I see lots of suicides. They are tragedies for whatever reason they happened. A lot of people get hurt and many shed tears, try being the one telling the kid's mother "it's too late". Now have that mom live with the fact that not only did her son take his own life, but tried to take someone's mother, wife, sister, cousin, friend or loved out with them. That is not right. If someone wants to kill htemselves I honestly feel it is their right, but they should not try to kill an innocent person in the process.

He was a really great guy. I loved him to death. I never thought he'd be the person to do this to himself. But then again: aren't they tho ones who do this?

I found out in my first hour class that Greg was dead. He would have been in that classroom-that was his first hour, too, but he made a bad decision. I have to ask that people don't use this forum to post inconsiderate things about Greg and the situation. I believe that he made a bad choice, but I don't think he was thinking clearly at the time. And like Salina said, people who are hurting as badly as Greg must have been tend not to show it. He was a really nice person, and I think he should be remembered for his life, not the way he died.

Losing someone you love to suicide is absolutely the most painful loss there is. His family and friends are in my thoughts, and I hope Greg found the peace he was looking for. Yes, he made a bad decision about possibly killing someone else in the process, but lets remember that people who commit suicide are usually extremely depressed and are obviously not thinking straight.

i resent what the person before me said. yes some kids don't value life as they should, but Greg had some things going on that most people didn't know about. so who are others that didn't know him or know anyone that knew him to say such horrible things about him. I pray that he's happy now, with God and being taken care of. i pray for his family that they find peace in this situation. and for my friends that knew him that i had to see cry all day on friday and also my 2 teachers that i saw cry i pray for too that this passes with good thoughts of Greg and no other mean thoughts from people that think they know better, and didn't even know him.

Remember everyone who writes on here, that the family is reading these and I hope everyone uses some tact.
I grieve for his family and for the woman who was also injured. What a horrible situation.
Nothing in this world could be sadder and more heart breaking than to have a parent out live their child. It's unnatural. It's sad.
I ask everyone to pray for the family to have some peace and forgiveness in this horrible time of pain. God be with all of you who have been hurt by these actions in anyway. God bless all of you. Please keep praying. Nothing could be better right now than some peace of mind.

He was just a kid -- not mature enough to really comprehend. I'm very sorry for a his family and friends, it is a sad situation beyond comparison.

But, he intended on taking another with him. She is a mother of 3 kids and is now looking a very brutal recovery. She will never be the same. This will affect her and her families life. At first, we all thought it was an accident - not a attempted murder!

I new Greg growning up at Mickenly Elimentry School. I remember walking to my locker the day after it happend wondering why every body i looked at was so sad. when my friend told me the news bout him. I couldnt belive it. Like any good friend i didnt belive it but the anoncement came and all i could do was cry. Greg was a well known Guy. A Sweet, Warm loving guy that got alone with everyone. I know theres got to be some reson for why he did what he did. But Why This sweet, loveing guy that always has a smile on his face. Just remembering the day before it happedn that i had talked to him and the times in gym playing basketball. His smile would just bring a smile to my face. He new how to make someone that was feeling down to feel happy again. My HEART goes out to the Family and the Friends that were closer to him then i was. I am praying for gregs friends and family. Please Pray for them as well. and dont post any bad or negitive comiments here. we dont need that

gregs death is a tragedy and we should all learn from it. greg was a really nice guy softspoken and honest.... not more than a week before his death i me and him were jokin.... about suicide. and now more than everi realize how much its not funny in any way. the kid who had been laughing about it a couple days ago is now deceased. and i dont know if i believe it i in fact refuse to believe this..... i say, prove it... prove someone as nice as him sacrificed his morals and hurt all of his friends and family

salina i miss him too. i can't believe he's gone. its like one day your talking about pointless crap and the next day their just gone. and we never knew what was going on because he never showed it...
i go to the same school that greg did and i knew him really well. I can;t believe all these people are making all these sick and crewel jokes and comments about him, and they didn't even know who he was. i don't know about you but i am definately going to the wake and paying my respecets, because greg was an awesome guy, he just had some problems..that no one knew about.

My comment for you is that you shouldn't talk! If you where a true friend and if you knew what was going on and you didn't step in, then you were not a true friend. People are going to bash him all they want you can't stop them. A real friend would have stepped in and tried to stop him or at least have gotten him help. You can't call youself a real friend because you let it go on and did nothing. If people knew and did nothing then they are the ones that should feel bad, maybe if they had done something he'd be alive today and there wouldn't be any tears. Maybe then there wouldn't be three children with a mother severally injuried. Did you think about her family when you made your comment? She is a dear friend of mine and what he did was terrible a terrible crime.
