Funny that the City worker interviewed on the TV news said the garbage and dog **** usually stays on the ground for days or weeks because there is so much of it - and because, it follows logically - no one has been helping the City workers, as you claim to have been doing.
Great point, whatever it is.

No surprise there. Most bums in our county are bums by choice, leaching off our goodwill. It make sense. Great views, great free food and services, lots of goodwill to exploit by naive people trying to change the world, not realizing they're being exploited by a constant flow of lazy hippies that see Humboldt County as a tourism destination.
Our truly local homeless lose out, less services for them. At some point you have to begin blaming the enablers for what they bring our county and how much they harm our truly local needy people. Shame on you.
You appear to refer to "lazy hippies" as if (1)all hippies are lazy (2) all lazy people are hippies. My observation tells me that (1) there are no more hippies...I know because I was there, in 1968, on Haight street, when the "Death Of The Hippie" parade passed by, and (2) people now who think they are hippies have not a clue.

NO!!!! Don't burst their bubble! They have to hate something and by hating hippies they are giving some other group a break. if they don't have hippies to hate they will transfer it to something else. maybe dogs, cats..or heaven forbid..kids! Naw...let them hate the hippies. Gives them something to look forward to.

I thought the hippy was dead in 1967 when acid became illegal. Is that wrong of me to associate acid with the hippy? Flower children is perhaps a better term.

LSD is the next thing we'll probably be on about after cannabis is legal. Legalize acid, bring back the hippy. I will try not to frame it that way when the time comes. I'll cite some cherry picked psychiatric research or make some type of harm reduction claim regarding acid.

Medical acid?

"In a study of 31 cancer patients suffering from anxiety, depression and uncontrollable pain, 71 percent showed improvement in their physical and emotional status after each LSD session."
http://www.fda.gov/FDAC/features/795_psyche.h...

That's because 71% of the cancer patients turned into flower children for a few hours.

See? It's an easy case case to make.

I made no such claims, learn to read. I celebrated 4/20 with a grueling 11 hour workday down here in sunny Santa Cruz. But I have spent many 4/20s in Redwood Park and saw no issues with trash that you would not see at any event with that many folks in a small spot. The farmers market, oysterfest, kinetic sculpture race all left my front yard with much more litter than on an average day. Darn yuppies. You are a foolish bigot.

It's called sensationalism.

The bars produce more litter than a farmer's market or a sculpture race on any given Friday. If I were to sensationalize bars, I would talk about STD-carrying brain dead alcoholics who frequently trash every square foot they occupy but don't remember the next day.

There is no proof Crick was high on LSD at the time of pondering the double helix model. "What Mad Pursuit" does not specifically say this although Crick's autobiography is the reference cited by this rumor. Crick did use LSD according to his biography.

The factual information about Crick's life only proves that he researched the DNA model and took LSD, not that he did both at the same time.

Besides, Rosalind Franklin made the key discovery about the double helix model. She was not tripping, at least I've never heard that said. It may be time to start that rumor.

Yes, you have ignored my posts of the past years and now insult me for the few you have stumbled upon this week. You are a deep thinker, you are. But who cares?

I get the lulz from making the local anti-tweaker brigade livid.
Most of these travelers are just kids finding themselves through marginally edgy activity. The increase in crime and mess would happen with ANY influx in people.
It would be so much better to have talks and exhibits for 420, like the Godwit days festival rather than the polarized idiocy that we have now.
Some day.
Meanwhile, I am going to the bank today to get $100 dollar bills to hand them out one or two at a time to the people around the plaza. The businesses in the area should say "thanks!" to me.
But I'll just take re-payment in lulz. LOL
You are part of the problem!
