yay it's 4/20! Let's all smoke a bowl and eat funions! Nope just kidding. I hope everyone stays safe that's all. I mean everybody up here in Humboldt knows about 4/20 and how it really draws a crowd to the area so let's hope all the stoners don't get too rowdy. I am a firm believer in staying away from pot as some of you might know, but hey if it's going to happen we need to be safe about it. Law enforcement always does a pretty good job keeping the people who do choose to smoke pot all day off the roads. I don't want them out there on the same roads my family drives on. I just think it's pretty sad that some people look foward to this day all year, so they can get f-ed up on weed. Maybe you guys can start working and paying taxes instead of toking up on a Monday. Some come from all over to enjoy 4/20 in Humboldt. Don't you guys have anything better to do than smoke pot? Losers.

A city and region known for smoking dope. Now that is something to be really proud of! Perhaps we could erect a historical marker that tells of this cultural center. What would it be called?? "Yo Dude Wanna lid?" " Area Dope" Yep something to be proud of right here in the drug capital of NCal.

I handed out $18 dollars yesterday to young panhandlers in the plaza. I get the lulz from making the local anti-tweaker brigade livid. Most of these travelers are just kids finding themselves through marginally edgy activity. The increase in crime and mess would happen with ANY influx in people. It would be so much better to have talks and exhibits for 420, like the Godwit days festival rather than the polarized idiocy that we have now. Some day. Meanwhile, I am going to the bank today to get $100 dollar bills to hand them out one or two at a time to the people around the plaza. The businesses in the area should say "thanks!" to me. But I'll just take re-payment in lulz. LOL

No surprise there. Most bums in our county are bums by choice, leaching off our goodwill. It make sense. Great views, great free food and services, lots of goodwill to exploit by naive people trying to change the world, not realizing they're being exploited by a constant flow of lazy hippies that see Humboldt County as a tourism destination.
Our truly local homeless lose out, less services for them. At some point you have to begin blaming the enablers for what they bring our county and how much they harm our truly local needy people. Shame on you.

Mr Shelter, these "youth" and young adults didn't fall through the cracks, they found and climbed through them. I hope you are getting their names while they play in your kitchen. After all you may have a future famous criminal in there. If you have school age children converging on your community to celebrate an illegal drug, and the response isn't a sweep to arrest the "revelers", but hand-wringing over damage to a park, you have a system that is broken in a very fundamental way. I think it's safe to say that the present CFS/Foster Care system does not work. Back to reformatories and orphanages, end tax breaks for children to pay for it. You might actually save some of these kids from going on to lives desparation, but you would have to put your '60's belief structures aside.

When your economy is tanking and have no industry or development or vision then of course 4/20 is a celebration in Humboldt. I just can't wait until Meth May Day.
Further proof it's a sinking ship.

What should be done is have the 4/20 go on for a week and let all the other dopers join in as well and have a special area set aside for them to all meet. Then, heh, heh, heh, ZAP! Get rid of all of them in one fell swoop. Zapo, zap, zap! All gone. One of the things they never seem to get is why it's called DOPE!

Violence? REALLY? I wonder if Mr. Mendoza can site his source on that one. Fights happen, sure- especially when you get enough people in one place... there are bound to be people that run into each other that have existing issues and get into a little trouble. But violence? I've been up at the park every year for about 14 years and I have never, ever, EVER seen even one single act of violence. The worst thing I've ever seen at the park during 420 is the number of street kids that can spend a few hundred dollars on herb and glass but wont feed their fu(king dog!
