Bail was set at $150,000? For a heroin traficker from another country?
Let me predict he will instantly make bail and disappear, never to be seen again. Hasta la vista, baby!
Richard Kyle McLendon's bail was set at $150000, not the 2 hispanics. The cases may be related, but Richard Kyle McLendon, a non-hispanic, is the leader. Read the story again to get your facts correct.

This is OLD NEWS!!

http://www.usdoj.gov/oig/testimony/9905a.htm

A ton of cocaine--pure cocaine, worth hundreds of millions--is smuggled into the United States. Sound familiar? Not the way this ton of cocaine got here, according to what the former head of the Drug Enforcement Administration told Mike Wallace. This drug shipment got here courtesy of what he calls drug trafficking by the CIA, in partnership with the Venezuelan national guard. While rumors of CIA involvement in drug trafficking have circulated for years, no one in the US government has ever before publicly charged the CIA with this kind of wrongdoing. It is not the kind of accusation anyone in government would make without thinking long and hard.

The CIA's shadowy activities in Vietnam were necessary to prepare American public opinion to accept the commitment of ground troops to a foreign war. Its actions in this regard were diabolically clever, William Blum in his book, The CIA, A Forgotten History, draws attention to the confessions of Phillip Liechty, a former CIA officer. Liechty revealed he had seen the plans to take large amounts of Communist bloc arms, load them on a Vietnamese boat, fake a battle, and then call in naive reporters to see the "captured" weapons as proof of foreign assistance to the Viet Cong. After this staged incident concerning the sinking of a "suspicious vessel" in "shallow water" off South Vietnam on Feb. 16, 1965, the United States State Department released a paper alleging aggression from the North. Liechty noted also an elaborate scheme to forge Viet Cong postal stamps to indicate North Vietnamese aid; Life Magazine put the CIA forgery on a full cover blow up.(edited)

The T-S is not "falsely reporting" anything. They are not trying to pass it off as new news, and it's not their fault it has reappeared in their most viewed list, it's Topix's. A similar thing happened recently when an airline's stock plummeted because an OLD story about bankruptcy resurfaced on a single website.

Awesome, it's about time the police drive their cars in the giuntoli area. just go take a drive over in area, you will see a major increase in the homeless people sitting outside of rays parking lot. If I was a drug addict, I too would try to live as close to my dealers as possible. the problem is that this brings, wasteoids, living in their cars and taking dumps in corners behind rays.(if you don't believe me go look for yourself) there is crap and toilet paper on the ground. WHEN DID RAYS PARKING LOT AND THE HOTELS BECOME THE NEW PLAZA? this goes out to all the homeless people in the area(that can read and have access to a computer), I don't have any spare change, So stop asking me..!

You people aren't reading, are you? To recap:

1) The story is from March 15, 2008. Stop commenting on how great this new news is.

2) The T-S is not trying to pass this off as new news. Stop commenting on the T-S somehow doing this on purpose.

3) The story resurfaced when someone started commenting on an old story, and now appears in their most read box, a fun side effect of teh interwebz.

Does it really matter where opium was first produced? If this heroin bust happened this year or last? In my opinion, the bottom line is that all legal residents of California need to unite to control the open border with Mexico and the flocks of illegal immigrants coming across daily. Our state is facing bankruptcy...millions of illegals are mooching the system for welfare and medi-cal while our children are in elementary class with Mexicans who don't even know the Spanish alphabet or one word of English. Illegal immigration costs California $10 billion annually. Wake up! Is cheap labor worth all of the crime, drugs, pollution and financial drain to our lives that they bring? It's without a doubt predicted that by the year 2040 there will be 60 million illegals living in California.
I can't wait for more Mexican restaurants, to have to speak fluent Spanish and to live in fear amongst all of the criminals! Maybe we will rename our state Mexicalifornia, by then it will be so fitting!

Oh, and hell yeah we need to keep illegal's out of the country. I don't know how much they cost us in health care expenses. Plus we have to have special classes and teachers to teach them in spanish. How many ESL classes and teachers are there in America? How much could we save cutting those unnecessary teaching jobs. Also, some of those people are stealing social security numbers and ruining peoples credit. They are also commiting crimes and overcrowding our jail systems. It costs around 40,000 dollars per inmate per year to keep them in jail. How many of those inmates are illegal aliens? I know Los Angeles county jail has plenty of them. And it's sad we have these "sanctuary cities," we need to look at the people in charge of these cities and get rid of them. I used to work with a lot of illegal aliens in the construction field. I know what most of them plan to do when they retire. They all used to tell me the same thing....I am sending as much money as I can home to my family in Mexico. I will buy a ranch and when I have a nice amount set to the side I will move home. They live together in one house, like 20 of them in one house...they help pay the bills and send a huge amount of money to Mexico each pay period. They don't spend that money here helping our economy, you have to be kidding. And they don't pay taxes either(most of them). And then they move back to Mexico to retire on their ranch that they bought with the money they earned here, tax free. They mooched off the health care system, their kids got educated in our schools that catered to them, and then the moved back. Because they are just looking out for themselves. Like I said before, greed....gotta love it. Or are they just being smart? Think about it before you hippies say the illegals make us money in tax revenue, because the numbers tell a different story, even counting the money illegals make America, they cost us much more. You have to wonder why California always has trouble with our budget, our education system is always in trouble, and our health care system is always in crisis. All these people on Welfare, all the illegal aliens using us for free health care. If we made all the people on welfare do the jobs the illegals are doing, and shipped the illegals home our country might be doing better. I mean Obama wants to create jobs right? He could create a lot of jobs by making welfare recipients do the jobs illegals are doing in order to recieve their welfare checks, what do you think?
