Actually, it didn't say anything about her going the wrong way (thought it was the impression I got at first). It appears she simply turned left from the right lane, crossing the left lane of traffic to do so (and subsequently intersecting the front end of the Chief's car). I've seen this all the time downtown, though usually the story of "I didn't know" seemed to be cooked up at the scene. Still, giving her the benefit of the doubt, she could be a student new to the area, looking into her classes for next semester. I wonder if she was cited?

How about some history on the offending driver? Bet there's more that isn't being told.

If the chief knew anything about defensive driving this wouldn't have happened. Anyone else remember the chief's accident in Santa Rosa? The T-S published a picture of that one. What about this chief driving his patrol car to Oregon on personal trips? This man is a liability. If he worked for a private company he wouldn't be allowed on the road.

When did a simple car accident make the newspaper? No injuries. No property damage. Just because it was the police chief? Come on T-S....you're really hurting for good stories, aren't you?

This a common occurrence in Eureka, just a couple of weeks ago, a driver from Australia pulled the same maneuver on one of my co-workers, causing a similar collision.

my questions are:
1. Did other officers respond as backup?
2. Did they taser her?
3. Did they beat crap out of her?
4. Will the chief claim injuries?
5. Will the chief go out on enhanced peace officer disability? 6. Was she booked for assualt on a peace officer?
7. Was she booked for assualt with a deadly weapon?

At least he is out in the field covering caps not sitting behind a desk like most bureaucrats. There arent enought cops in this town so I welcome a chief who gets out in our neighborhoods.

If I am not mistaken, that is the third or fourth crash in a official vehicle. I am guessing that is public record if someone wants to verify.
Perhaps those Chargers field of vision isn't what it should be.
