"FAR OUT!" Every $ spent in Humboldt is important, big or small. Plus getting to see our "backyard" on the Big Screen is like the icing on the cake. Therefore I say Welcome! to independent film makers who for whatever reason fall for the many charms that Humboldt has to offer. So come see, spend, and enjoy everything we have to offer!!!

The La Salle County State's Attorney's Felony Enforcement unit took into custody Suzannah L. Bowser, 60, saying they found her with more than 11 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 80. Bowser was released from the county jail Friday after $15,000 cash bond was posted for her.

Because of the amount of marijuana involved, Bowser faces a charge that is punishable by a mandatory prison term; probation is not an option. At her first court hearing Friday, Bowser said she planned to hire a private attorney. Her next hearing was set for Thursday, March 1.

Bowser is a writer, actress, musician and moviemaker, according to online information. One of Bowser's films, "Flea," released in 2010, starred Barry Williams, who played "Greg" in the television show The Brady Bunch.

Bowser was listed with an address in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, but one of her film production companies was in northern California.

On Thursday, the SAFE unit also arrested Arkadi Aminov, 45, Las Vegas. Aminov was charged with possession of between 2,000 and 5,000 grams about four to 11 pounds of marijuana. The charge is usually punishable by probation or prison. Aminov remained in the county jail as of Friday, needing $20,000 cash for bond. The public defender is representing him.

From filmmaker to pot head drug trafficker all in one lifetime.

By time she gets out of prison she will be to old to deal more drugs?
