Come out and enjoy the event and learn about the location of the park at Cooper Gulch and we would love to share as much info as we can. Cooper's Gulch is located off of Myrtle Avenue in Eureka.

I think the waterfront would be a better place for a skatepark- if you want some tourism dollars. I'm sure that my suggestion makes too much sense- didn't we try to build a skatepark like 8 years ago?
Somehow I think someone from "government" will put all this money in their pocket- and there still will be NO skatepark.

I think Cooper Gulch is OK for a skate park, but let's put the DOG PARK in jeff leonard's front yard.

Thanks to Jeff Leonard, local business and community members who have taken the time to support this great cause. If your interested in supporting the Eureka Skatepark the event on Saturday in Blue Lake will be an excellent opportunity to donate. THIS PARK WILL BE BUILT BY FALL '08, community support and donations will dictate how large the park is. If you think this is a good project for our community now is the time to act.

You might be thinking of the Arcata skate park. It did get constructed, always seems to have people using it on the rare occasions I pass that way.

Arla you and your crew just never stop.. loved the background for this event.. that would be the Blue Lake Mobil Home Park. Where was your
kindness when you evicted family's with school age children from their homes? Nice try but no cigar's Arla, we who live in Blue Lake know the truth, why don't you come and see me and I will be happy to show you where two school age children and their grand-parents live after you made them homeless. When you drive up
Chartin Rd. look to the left at our property, see that 26 foot travel trailer, that's where they live.

Patty Mager, No one cares about your obsession with Arla Ramsey, and frankly we are all tired of hearing about your rants. The entire town of Blue Lake understands that life is difficult for you because you suffer from alcoholism, but it's no excuse to constantly harass people. You should get some help instead of being such a miserable person. Try AA. It's a great organization that offers support for addicts.

Once the skate park is open, then the riders caught in other posted non-skate areas can be fined to the max, right? I lived in SF when they opened the Embarcdero walkway. It was nice for about a week. Then the Skate Punks tore it up. And the city didn't even charge them enough for repairs when they were caught.

They have been writing tickets for skating south of 7th street in eureka for years. Really adds to the economy, Im sure.

Skateparks reduce juvenile crime. Plain and simple. They should make about 3 of them and stop selling Insane Clown Posse cds at the mall.

Once again this is why anyone commenting on a site should put their name to their comments. Casting asperisions on my personal life does not negate the harm that Arla Ramsey has done to our community. Frankly by your comment you give me more of an incentive to keep on doing what I do. Your concern about my well being is appreciated; it is good to know that you have such concern for me, but the question is where is your concern for the victims of the Blue Lake (non-indian) Rancheria.
And by the way, my life is not difficult by any means. I feel that I just might have the life that you can only dream of...

I agree 100%. I hope the kids will be allowed to skate in peace there. The Arcata skatepark is full every time I see it. The kids I know are full of hope about the skatepark in Eureka.

Your comment fails to express any feelings for the victims of Arla Ramsey's selfishness. Shame on her and shame on you for defending Arla. Patty is one of of our most selfless community members. She truly cares about the harm being done to other community residents who do not deserve what has happened to them. Just who do you think you are?

How do you ruin a great community park? Pour 12,000 square feet of concrete into it. Ha!

I have a wonderful idea for the Skateboard planning group. Why don't you hire the guy who designed our bee-yoot-iful Humboldt County Jail?

That will really Uglify Cooper Gulch to the max.

Then won't you be happy?

Boy I can see it now! It will have some beautiful weeds, and some beer cans with some broken glass, the spray cans, and of course the empty meth bags. And of course the "skate punks."

This skateboard park has a lot of potential in the future. Not only for the short-term use for locals in their daily recreation, but maybe even the opportunity to bring in various forms of competitions.

If you watch the tube, you will see that there seems to be a skateboard circut of competition that attracts a lot of people. yes, for som of the older generation this may not be the thing, but I would be pretty impressed to see it locally and not only on the TV.
