GOOD. Look and see if someone you know is on it. Keep an eye on them so they don't mess up and if they do, call them on it!!!

Look at the underage DUI's. I recognize two of these people. One is a gangbanger, and the other a card dealer at Bear River Casino. How embarrasing!

It's a family disease.
Choose recovery.

Well, that's about $141,000 made for the state within 1 month. If only other not-so-lucrative crimes were pursued as heavily

you know dui is not always synominous with beligrent drinking with reckless regard to safety. Those people with act recklessly with or without a liscence. Meeting a coworker after work for a beer before cotinuing home can potentially turn into a dui.

If you think our current DUI penalties are bad, try these on for size:

Australia:
The names of the drivers are sent to the local newspapers and are printed under the heading "He's Drunk and in Jail".

Malaysia:
The Driver is jailed and if married, his wife is jailed too.

South Africa
A 10 year prison sentence and the equivalent of a $10,000.00 fine

Turkey
Drunk drivers are taken 20 miles outside of town by police and are forced to walk back under escort.

Norway
Three weeks in jail at hard labor, one year loss of license. Second offense within five years, license revoked for life.

Finland & Sweden
Automatic jail for one year of hard labor

Costa Rica
Police remove plates from car

Russia
License revoked for life

England
One year suspension and a $250.00 fine and jail for one year France
Three year loss of license, one year in jail and a $1000.00 fine

Poland
Jail, fine and forced to attend political lectures

Bulgaria
A second conviction results in execution

El Salvador
Your first offense is your last---execution by firing squad

I thought I heard 80 since the first of the year. It would be really interesting to see where the arrests were made. to see if there is a particular problem area. Most seem to be from Eureka, but since that is where the largest percentage of HumCo seems to reside that would make sense.

And DUI is primarily a political crime. Insurance studies have shown that even dealing with kids is as dangerous as a 0.08 BAC. We have charges that cover other dui-related problems. But a polital action group was founded around DUI in the '80's and here we are.

Should take their license away minimum 1 yr, large fine, rehab and community service. The system is to easy on them.
If more than the 1st offense go to jail for at least 2 yrs.
It's way past time to get them off the road.

Some of you are quick to throw the first stone when you know damn well that you have been impaired behind the wheel before. For those who don't drink and drive, I applaud you. It's those that think 1 or 2 beers is not considered drunk driving. You can still get a Wet & Reckless/DUI for a sip of alcohol. Try not to be hypocrites...

When will people learn?
One of the names on that list is someone with whom I used to be pretty close friends and he was just as shattered as I was when a dear mutual friend died because he did not have the good sense not to operate a vehicle under the influence....How is it that anyone who has lost someone they care for to the needless idiocy of drunk driving EVER risk doing that to the people who love them.

Think any of the current smokers
ever lost a loved one to lung cancer?

Uh, yeah, I thought so, too.

The money goes into the County coffers. As does CHP traffic violations. I say have as many officers parked a block away from bars and make the arrests. The Plaza would be a wind fall. Help balance the budget by drinking and driving.

I am sorry but driving drunk and taking out an innocent family is hardly a slip up! And yes I judge people who carelessly take other's lives into jeoprody! It should be public and be judged!
