Find small-town America in Edmond, Oklahoma

Oklahoma, perhaps more than any other state, symbolizes a side of America that is hard to find these days.

Reading this article about small town America and Edmond as its symbol made me want to laugh! I was born and raised in Edmond and resided there until my mid fifties. When I left all great memories of the small town had since disappeared and Edmond had changed. It is no different than any town that has grown and become too large and too busy for a casual visit at the local Barrett's drug, or Wynns IGA. I am old and guess this 'new generation' has no idea what those of us OLDIES remember as small town. Small town to me is under 20,000 people! Edmond is how large now?
Not small anymore and certainly lost its charm in my books. I have found a new home, really small town, where I fit and know everyone> Nope, I won't tell you where, I want to keep this community to myself!

That is right, this article is LAUGHABLE! A sorry marketing ploy by someone. Edmond is a long shot from being a small town. It is just an extension of Oklahoma City now, all connected toghether, you can't tell where one ends and the other begins!

Small town Edmond is LONG GONE...trust me!

I pray Guthrie can keep Edmond from encroaching! Still want to believe that Guthrie could still be sacred 'small town america"
