A freight train carrying volatile chemicals derailed about 50 miles south of Toledo Sunday morning, causing at least 15 tanker cars to catch fire and explode and forcing evacuations of nearby homes, a fire official said. Full Story

Be best to let it burn as well as possible as long as nothing else would catch. That way it would minimize methanol in ground water.

According to a friend of mine who lives in that town, it's ethanol, not methanol, that was in the train.

Yeh another article said ethanol. Now I know the mystery of why people seem naturally drunk around there.

it was ethanol and it probably was at least 1000 feet in the area when some fire balls exploded. those pictures taken be friends of mine are taken more then 2 miles away

is very lucky this did not happen in a city or village, at that time of morning, or a more populated rural area. Could have been much worse. 1 has to wonder what is on these trains that roll through, and what emergency plans are in place for such a thing.

THE RIALROAD ROUTE NEED NEW MORE SLEEPER TIES (( CONCRETE TIES in this State Of Ohio )) safety more than old woods ties still are not safety, That lot of old wood ties might be causing derailed / accident off track, Ohter some of state in USA that have been istalling new concrete ties (( new sleeper ties on railroad route around in USA, CANADA, EUROPE, JAPAN, CHINA, AUSTRIALAN, SOME COUNTY IN THE WORLD, Thank You,, Ohio Man
