Simsboro High School held a meeting in the auditorium for over an hour Monday to discuss the dress code changes that would become effective after Thanksgiving. Basically it revolves around visible seams on uniform pants, and flaps on pockets being "gang" related. I think time would have been better spent educating my child rather than worrying about her seams being visible. I AM SICK TO DEATH OF ALL THE DRESS CODE CHANGES!!!!

I am sick of hearing about dress code as well because i go to huntington and everyday they call someone out of class and send them to the office over something they wearing. How we supposed to learn anything when our time is wasted sitting in the office doing nothing, we can do that at home.

The dress code is a joke!

Where was all this enforcement activity when they had a "regular" (non-uniform) dress policy?

This entire problem coudlve been avoided if the imbiciles that run this place wouldve simply enforced our dresscode before the uniforms were put into effect..it is total bull crap that we are being forced to buy extra uniforms, alongside our regular clothes, might i add during the first meeting when they decided that we were going to uniforms, they told our parents that it would be easier for them, because it would be cheaper... hmm do you really think that it is cheaper to buy normal clothes, and uniforms...think about that...

I am a student at simsboro high school. i am a junior this year, the uniforms were introduced during my 7th grade year and haven't made the slightest improvement yet. The only real difference that the uniforms have made is the fact that we have twice as many referrals written daily for dress code violations. If anything the uniform policy has distracted the learning process that they have been "trying" to protect. Please would anybody out there care to tell me just how what i wear effects how i learn? i think that I would learn just the same wearing blue jeans and a t shirt as I would in this crappy uniform. I am currently in my 6th hour class at Simsboro High School, and I know school isnt supposed ti be about comfort, but if I were a bit more comfortable, i wouldnt be focusing on fixing this dang uniform, id be more focused on my teacher, and on my work...Please show me a study where OUR school has been improved, where OUR school has somehow increased the level of straight A students since that uniform policy has been brought about. I, if anything, would learn better in blue jeans, then in this horribly hot, uncomfortable uniform. if our parents wanted to buy uniforms and make us look exactly alike all of our peers, they would stick us into a private school, where you, as a student, are MEANT to be identical and hold no individuality. At the beginning of this whole uniform policy, they promised us that we would be able to wear whatever shoes we wanted, and wear whatever jackets we wanted...what happened to that empty promise...it is looking more and more like we are being fed empty promises so we will bend to the will of our tormentors. they(the few teachers who let us be normal) are being punished by you people. why punish the good teachers who let us relax, look at our grades moron, we do better in there than in any other classes, over all the classes make A's and B's but no, good grades dont cut it for you do they? you want us all identical and what you fail to realize is that is an unattainable dream...so drop it, let us go back to normal clothes, quit wasting my time with your bull crap and stop cutting class time to write the referrals that dont need to be written.

I couldn't have said it better myself!! Come on people let's truly educate our children and stop worrying about what they are wearing and how it can be considered "GANG" related. If we all stand together we can end this nonsense!!

We just recently moved to Simsboro. I'm wondering if there are some local forums for Simsboro/Ruston. Also, I am curious as to find information about the elementary school... Is it decent? Testing scores, how are the teachers, etc.?

The dress code should be skirts short enough to see the thongs underneath. Or better yet... no underwear at all! Isn't the 21st century great?
