Seems like the police in that town definitly have a problem.Same dept. that earlier were at fault for releasing a prisoner who later comitted murder on a young women.Lots of problems.Go to elwood.org and read the comments. After harrasing this young man most of his life, now they are putting out disinformation about him. Like that makes it okay. They blame his death on budget cuts!

I think it is very sad that we, as the United States has to wait for a tragdey to happen. It seems to take some many people commiting suicide for reason known to man, before anyone stands up and say we need to do something. Then the people passing the bills want to say, "Look at me, look what I have done for this cause."
But it is always a little to late for some of our families. They are the one that are still here dealling with the grief and memories. I wish that when our soldiers come home that they would get the help they need, not the run around that the GOVERNMENT gives them. REMEMBER THEY {The Soldier} PUT THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR US. THEY DESERVE OUR RESPECT AND GRADATUIDE. AND THEN YOU HAVE THE ILLEGAL ALIENS THAT OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WANT TO HAND THE WORLD TO. I PERSONALLY THINK THIS IS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO OUR SOLDIERS. God bless each and everyone of them that has put they life on the line for their country. |

Please don't jump to conclusions about the reasons that this disturbed young man killed himself. He has had problems for years and has been a problem in the community for years. The 2003 arrest was after the local high school was on lock down because of his threats to a female student. I am highly suspicious of the Purple Heart claim. Nothing was ever reported in our local paper about this. Frankly, we were surprised that the army would accept him.

Americans Are Living (And Dying) In A Militarized Police State
Dave Gibson American Chronicle May 12, 2008 Today, police departments across the United States more closely resemble an occupying army than they do public servants responding to calls for help. Police officers can now be seen wearing helmets and body armor and carrying AR-15’s, just to deliver simple warrants. The militarization of our police departments not only gives the appearance of a military dictatorship but places the public at great risk. Need More Truth goto www.infowars.com |

To comment on "another side to the story"...his purple heart was earned...I served with him there...troubled or not, he put his life on the line daily for his brothers in Iraq and for you, so that you may sit back here and run your mouth in total disrespect of the sacrifice he, his family and all the rest of us that have stepped up to answer the call to fight to give other people the chance to be able to sit around and bad mouth their fellow countryman. In essence, put up or shut up. He did his job in Iraq and he did it well. Regardless of his past troubles, he did more for his country and the people of Iraq than you would ever think of doing. In the future, think of the freedoms you have and why you have them...after thinking real, real hard about it, say a prayer for those that have the intestinal fortitude to do what we do and just say thank you.

Not sure who you're calling a merc, merc's get paid a hell of a lot more...we did no merc worked, we did what the people of this country expect us to do, we trained the Iraqi's to take back the responsibilities of running their country...you say you served too? If that's the case, you know what little appreciation and understanding people that haven't been there have given to us...so, at ease, carry on...I'll be in the area all day! |

Hey joe. You volunteered and thats your problem. You let Bush suck you into a war we never had any reason to be in. Oh sure you may have thought Afghanistan was the righteous thing and perhaps it was. This country is not at war. If it were we would be rationing gas, food, rubber ect. we have basically stuck our big toe into another persons country and remember joe, THEY LIVE THERE! Yeah right. when i enlisted I realized how stupid it was. When I went to Korea and lived the third world life looking certain death in the face and Im not talking insurgents joe Im talking a million man army versus 40,000 GIs and alot of ROK's and then to come home and NO ONE CARED! Thats when I realized its all about the money and the only people they can get to "enlist" are right wing fanatic republicans that happen to be christians, for the most part, and dont get me wrong joe, I speak for the soilder who has no voice, for as a vet I realize you may agree but your life aint worth squat if you say what I say and agree with me. You must do! I already did! Never again will I take orders nor will my 10 yr old son! HE WILL NOT FIGHT THE RICH MANS WAR FOR OIL OR THEIR RELIGION! He is the only one I got joe. I suggest the movie red dawn and think of how it must feel for an Iraqi teen |

Actually, as the owner of elwood.org I resent that remark. But hey, Grandma told me long ago, as long as they are "talking about you they are leaving someone else alone." People from my town might catch the double meaning here.:) But surely, you remember from your childhood "judge not, lest ye be judged." Too bad many adults in my town, and on these stupid anonymous boards and in our faltering country have forgotten their upbringing for our next generation. All it takes for EVIL to REIGN is for good people to DO nothing. That doesn't mean spew a bunch of mispelled junque about which they know nothing about. As for my website, I'm making my presence known by my absence. I wish more of you "mean spirited" people would also. Anyone who would like to join me in silence about the tragic passing of one of our CHILDREN who FOUGHT in battle for "OUR America," please feel free to be silent.
Rest in Peace, Timmy, from Steven's mom. |
