I'm from Darien, Georgia on the Georgia coast. And I'm trying to figure out the fastest route to UGA. I know to get on I-95 and then I-16 west, but there's so many different routes from I-16 to Athens, and they all look like they take about the same amount of time. I'm basically trying to decide between the following:
US-441 from Dublin to Athens GA-15 from Soperton to Athens US-1 from Swainsboro to Wrens, then GA-17 and US-78 through Washington to Athens US-129 from Macon to Athens. US-25 via Statesboro, Augusta, then I-20 and US-17 through Washington All 5 ways are about the same distance on the Google Maps. Anyone have any ideas as to the best route? Much appreciated. |

any and all of those will get you to great DAWG country. I make that trip often and you are right they all take the same time you just have to find which ever one works the best for you. I personally don't like 129 it is very confusing in macon and I get lost. I will post another way that you may want to try later.

US-1 is very slow. It goes thru alot of small towns with the speed limit being 35 to 45. You will want to run yourself off the road. LOL
