The problem, Mrs. Roby, is that we are ALREADY paying enough to the federal and state governments that they should be able to fix these problems WITHOUT any tax increases.
Stop pissing away money on the military's foolish 'future weapons' programs that are basically just a HUGE waste of money.
In fact, get rid of the military TOTALLY! Our nukes are more than enough to keep any other country from attacking us, and our time would be better spent in negotiating with other countries rather than threatening them with military force.

we already pay plenty of taxes. let nthe thieving politicians give back some of their pay raises and stop trying to solve all the problems with unwed mothers, welfare, the bloated school system. the money is there.

If the public education program can cure human laziness and instill a sense of either caring or self respect amongst people that would be of great benefit.
I witness people throwing their trash onto the street almost daily. Smokers feel throwing their butts out their car windows is no big deal. That's jsut the tip of the ice berg. What the hell is wrong with people?! They are such crap!

How about the Dem government wanting an unregulated growth in th suburbs, with no real population gain, then blaiming them on the algae bloom in the bay? Human poo has more reason for the pollution of the Bay then anything else. Crack down on the governments who are SUPPOSSED to be doing something

I say get the convicts off their butts and send them out there to clean up the streams and Inner Harbor.
Oh I forgot here in the Peoples Republic of Maryland, that might be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
Their to busy anyway, watching TV,lifting weights or running their drug operations from prison.

I hope this survey ends any talk of a bottle tax in Baltimore. The last time it came it was repealed due to public outrage. This survey shows that would happen again.

I like christofer's solution - leave it to an uninformed jerk to come up with doing away with the military to clean up the bay. We do away with military, we won't be around to worry about the bay. I have an idea - lets send ole chris over to Iraq to negotiate with al qaeda

It's madness to spend millions trying to engineer an in-stream trash collector because the residents of the watershed think the streets and the storm sewers are vessels for trash. While the City deserves great praise for devoting part of its precious capital improvement budget to trying to make some dent on the symptoms, "we" need to correct the easily correctable source of the problem.

I'm so happy to see that Baltimore is addressing the issue of litter and pollution. I have lived in many states along the east coast and was quite shocked to see the amount of litter and trash along the roads and in the waterways when I moved here a few years ago. I really do think Baltimoreans need to be better educated about their environment. My neighbor actually referred to his dog's "Pet waste" as "fertilizer" one time, when he was trying to explain why he doesn't pick up after his dog- and this is an educated man who was born and raised in this area. It's encouraging to read that so many people are open to changing their habits and that there is an awareness of the pollution problem here in Baltimore.

I would politely ask you neighbor to have his pet deposit his fertilizer in his own yard.
