Great idea!!! Vote for the right-wing guy who homeschools and sued the district, winding up with a judgment against himself. And, vote for the guy who has lost more elections (NEVER even getting close) than anyone in memory. Good choice!!!(Sarcasm) This should solve every budget issue in government.(More sarcasm)

And, here is a letter to the editor written by Mr. Bellenfant:

"I have never seen so much hatred and vile as I have seen coming from the anti 8 supporters. All I see from them on every ad, and blog is name calling and personal animosity towards the Prop 8 supporters. This is very, very, one sided.

Personally, I say live and let live, but I don't think that most gays share the same attitude. What I see is a minority group with an agenda that wants to force their view on everyone else. I also have seen that there is actually more out of state funds coming from the no people than the yes side,(much more). Again, just an example of a minority trying to force their views on the majority.

What gets lost here is that there is no fundamental right for gays to marry. This is something that was artificially created very recently through the Liberal California Supreme Court. In fact, there is a federal law which requires that the federal government does not recognize any marriages not between a man and a woman. How can this be a "fundamental right", if there is a federal law against it.

Prop 22 won, and so will Prop 8. How many times will the will of the people be ignored?

Kevin Bellenfant"

Too bad Gary Parsons is retiring - one of Hawthorne's few honest politicians.
What makes Alicia Brewster a perpetual candidate? How may times has she run for council? What criteria does the reporter use to make that judgement? Doesn't seem like "fair" reprting.

I agree with you - the only other honest one left is Mayor Guidi.

Alex Vargas is absolutely the best candidate to fill a City Council Seat. He is a highly educated community activist who has made it his civic duty to try to make The City of Hawthorne a better place. Alex Vargas is one of the few candidates being endorsed by the Hawthorne Police Officers Association, not to mention current Council members Gary Parsons and Danny Juarez. Alex is homegrown and ready to take on the task of continuing efforts to bring back the sense of pride that once existed in this city.
Alex Vargas is a true leader and I am glad to call him my friend.
If you don't believe me feel free to visit his website where you may also see how truly dedicated Alex is to The City of Hawthorne.

Alex Vargas can't even manage his phone system. For several days his campaign phone has been placing automatic calls and then hanging up. I got 5 of these each evening for 3 days, then used *69 to trace the number back. The return call to his published campaign phone number gets an answering machine with "memory full".

Don't vote for this idiot.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Aries

There is a strong focus on career and parental matters today. You need to be cautious regarding your dealings with someone in authority - things may not be what they seem. This is also a good day to spend time with your partner. Communication in general should prove to be smoother sailing than usual so this would be an opportune time to discuss delicate matters with others. Good news in the evening is indicated.
