What a waste of money

It amazes me at just how much money Polk School District wastes. I wonder what the price tag of leaving the air conditioner on at Euharlee (even though it was vacated) cost us the tax payers of Polk County?

about as much sense as leaving the doors standing wide open at Eastside when there was no one in sight in the classrooms while they were meeting in the lunchroom

Dont't yall get it? We live in a high dollar county where we have all the money in the world to blow on whatever we want. Just kidding! The higher ups in these schools need to understand that the money for our schools is not theres to spend on stupid stuff and they need to spend it a little more wisely. Why would an air conditioner be needed when no ones there? Im sure the cost of that stupidity would have paid for some new chairs for the kids at Eastside that are sitting in broken ones. Hell, it might have even paid for Dr. Wingfield another paid vacation at our expense!

I am sure that the higher ups like thinking that the money is theirs and they can spend it any way they see fit (even if it doesn't benefit the kids or school). I bet if it was coming out of their pocket they would not be so willing to buy a flat screen t.v. or road sign when there are students sitting in classrooms without textbooks because there was no money in the budget to buy them. It makes one wonder why the higher ups are in the positions they are in...is it for the kids or for the power? It seems to be more for the power than the kids!!

The school board only knows what the dept heads and Williams shovel them. I have more concern about the waste of salaries for somme of the people who are clearly useless. I'm so sick of hearing rumors about affairs - do these people not have work to do for our kids?

They may just be rumors but the actions of those involved in the rumors sure do warrant the alligations of affairs. Some need to spend more time focusing on the children in their schools than the cute, skinny, and young females in their school!!

Could you be talking about the guy that use to have an uncle on the board and that is the ONLY way he ever got into administration? Not sure why he has been allowed to move up in the ranks since his uncle is no longer on the board. Oh wait, I forgot....it is ALL political!!!

Just like Mark Southern getting the contract to clean the schools in the county (again). Hmmmmmmm, 3rd highest bidder, been fired as the cleaning compnay once before, but is "well known" family in Cedartown that is so he gets the job. Board still approved him.

Like I said....ALL POLITICAL!!!

Welcome to Mayberry RFD. I think we should forget about the bus that picks up folks that need medical care or other needs. We should keep focused and build more hangers at the great airport in Fish Creek.If you review past prints of the paper Sullins is a big airport guy.

Since we are writing about tax payer $$$ what ever happened to the $400,000 that was given from the Fed's to improve Davis Rd.(can anyone say silver comet trail). Just a thought. I have Mark from WSB 2 checking into the apporiated $$$ that has never been spent. Watch out County Commish I am taking a look at where the taxpayer $$$ is being spent.

If i recall I should have been recieving an education but Thaxton was to busy raffling off sox to make a buck. I hope he dont gamble the tax payers $$$ like he does his $$$ over in MS.
