Not ALL, but most of the people who are applying or going to be applying are already abusing the system, and should be required to take a drug, alcohol and nicotine test. IF they can buy their dope, booze, and cigs (4.00 a pack), then they should have no problem buying their own cell phone service, groceries, lunches for their children, & utilities.
The phone is being promoted as a way of being able to seek employment....what if the job is drug dealing??

why is every poor person a crook? or a drug dealer? or even on drugs?
I didn't know that smoking was a tale tale sign of poverty either.
Why does everyone act like poverty stricken people are the only ones abusing the system also?
Is there anything that can be done to help these people that you aren't going to complain about? Just wondering.

You have missed the whole point here, I wasn't saying that everyone who needs help is on drugs, drinks, or smokes cigarettes. I am simply stating that if a person can afford habits, then they d*** sure don't need for you and I to pay for their cell phone service, and anything else that they could have bought had they not bought a 5.00 pack of cigs, 40 dollar bag of weed, and a bottle of Jack. If they can afford habits they can afford to feed their kids. You know, "Priorities"

If people are as hard up as they claim, then shouldn't have a problem giving up habits, to qualify for all these programs out there. There are people around here, that don't pay for their kids lunches at school, nor their kids clothes, or toys at Christmas, on food stamps, smoking, dopin, and boozin, driving nice cars, and eating filet mignons???

You don't make any sense in any of your replies..you contradict yourself...you sound guilty. You have missed my whole point. BOTTOM LINE IF YOU CAN AFFORD YOUR HABITS DONT USE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HARD FOR THEIR MONEY TO PICK UP YOUR SLACK!!!
Put out your cigarette, so you can read what you are typing, the smoke must be in your eyes.

LOL... you have to resort to that? I am guilty? Sorry, I don't need any welfare programs... but that doesn't mean I don't support people that do. I would like you to point my contradictions please.

You see, you must not realise that you are the one that is easy to stereotype. I could be a lot of things. Do you think only poor people support welfare programs?

but seriously... do you know what a contradiction is?

"Not ALL, but most of the people who are applying or going to be applying are already abusing the system..."
How do you know? In what way? What are they doing with the hour a month this program gives them?

"The phone is being promoted as a way of being able to seek employment....what if the job is drug dealing??"
YEAH! We should do away with phones and the internet all together to avoid such! I know you've heard of the slippery slope argument, but were you not aware that such an argument is a logical FALLACY? Just curious.

"If people are as hard up as they claim, then shouldn't have a problem giving up habits, to qualify for all these programs out there"
Please just stop attempting to use commas. Also, define "hard up" and "they" ....

Where was the contradiction? You said that people are "boozin" and "drvin nice cars" etc... and not paying for their kids lunches. I think we're all aware that irresponsible parents exist and it's a despicable thing.... but how does blocking a program that will assist an actual struggling family help? If I'm correct tracphone charges its customers three cents a month to pay for this program. You probably don't even use tracphone, do you? So don't fret, quit whining you can keep your change... I however have thrown more at a fountain... so I believe I'll splurge and give three pennies to a program that might save someone's life or find someone a job.

I never once said that people who absolutely need the help shouldn't receive it...I NEVER SAID THAT!! People that have habits need to hang them up and put priorities first. These people would have more money if they wouldn't buy all the habits first. Those same people stick their hand out to everyone because they don't have money...Come on, don't u get it ??
If these programs were required stricter regulations like a -drug, alcohol, and nicotine test and pass- lets help them out!!!
Cigarettes alone will kill approxiamately 6 million THIS YEAR!!! Not to mention all the meth, around here!!!

Don't fight for people with habits that don't have enough dignity to fight for themselves or their responsibilities!!! Throw your money out there lol..I will give mine to those that really need it

I wonder how much more expensive the testing kits for drugs alcohol and nicotine would be?
I guess you would be more willing to waste more money to feel comfortable that people with bad habits aren't getting the money you are already spending.
Do you know how much nicotine and drug tests are?
