This is to correct the misstatement in Jihan Spearman's letter of May 19 regarding Ari Symons' position on the death penalty.

How come no one remembers John Leopold as a former executive director of the Santa Cruz Action Network - the organization chiefly repsonsible for bringing about the biggest economic decline in the city's history?

As for endorsements by Laird and Keeley-whoopty-doo. Both of them were also part of that elitist organization and were elected on the basis of academia and a UCSC student vote-not local people.

If Leopold "is" elected the district should get exactly what it deserves....look-the-other-way crime from a less than legal immigrant poulation and a continuing creeping ceespoolleaking from the city to the outskirts.
Radical socialism does not work. One look at the city of Santa Cruz should tell you that. And Leopold is one of the achitects of that mess.
