Burke County nurse charged with stealing drugs from work

Waynesboro investigators arrested David Goodrich on Thursday for stealing prescription drugs from the Burke County Medical Center.

The person or persons who hired this person should feel responsible. They placed many patients of the hospital and employees in danger. I would like to know what kind of back ground check, drug screen and monitoring were done before they allowed this person to work. Does this hospital screen employees and talk with other companies that the employee had formerly worked for? I also see that this person resides in Martinez did the human resource department not find it odd that the employee would drive all the way to Burke County for a job?
