If MADD or DARE had such high value on their mission instead of just worrying about
getting their government money which seems to be their high priority, they wouldn't
be worrying about locks, they would have campaigned against the liquor to 4 AM law
which serves not purpose other than to allow more drunks to drink longer.

How does Madd expect me to remember these extra procedures to start my POS pickup when I'm hammered?

I think MADD is becoming a little to power hungry. Do any of them go out to dinner and have a couple glasses of wine, or a beer and a burger? Why don't we just go back to prohibition? Let's shut the bars down, the liquor stores down, and every restaurant that services liquor. Thank goodness we have all these organizations to run our lives for us.

I think this is pretty pointless. This only works against repeat offenders. What about the guy who goes out on his 21st and gets messed up and then kills a family of four on his way home??

It wasn't too many years ago that the woman in charge of Madd pinched a DWI...seems to me the story was printed on page three of the local section.

I have some issues with MADD. 1) To maintain IRS tax exemption MADD cannot accept charitable donations and try to influence legislation. What MADD has done in WI is to not accept WI donations so they can influence WI legislation. However, they do collect donations in other states. 2) MADD's ultimate goal IS prohibition. That is not a secret.

And how will this machine protect against having the sober child in passenger seat blow in it for mommy/daddy? I've seen it done enough to know how these types circumvent the system. MADD is a sad joke compared to what is should be.

DAMM Drunks against mad mothers

These wrinkled up old hayburners should go home ,do their dishes and take care of their own neglected families, Your job is done, the .08 BAC tripwire is in place, Your mentors in the insurance lobby are making a killing on risk insurance, the administrative cops of the safe sober tax collection by badge is raking in enough money on a .75% of fine surcharge to hire even more tax by badge cops.

Bars are closing, people are afraid to leave their own home for a night out. Those little honeys that promote corn to Ethanol have all prices driven through the roof that beer and alcohol will be priced out of range for Joe Citizen, Just like tobacco. Chief Justice John Marshall said that "the power to tax should never be used as a power to destroy"
But what the hell did the founders know about freedom ? It seems thatthe great social engineer A.Hitlers philosophy "the good of the many at the expense of a few is more fitting today than 60 years ago, Ya think?

Good for MADD. We need to get these guys off the road permanently. We should have a 5 year ban on the first infraction. People do not take this serious enough like Archie and the rest. I wish people would realize that real people get hurt by these drunks. a 5 year ban would hit home the first time.

I think this should be manditory for all 50 states. The only problem I see (have seen before) is someone else blowing in the thing to start car. YOU GOT MY VOTE

If you have never had a DUI/DWI you would not have the device on your car,so your logic is a little confused. If you JUST go out for a Burger and A beer you have nothing to worry about.

KaCee, I think you're making things up, I'll bet you've never seen anyone
assist a drunk driver by blowing into the ignition actuator like you say.

MADD is the perfect example of how bad legislation gets pushed through by activists instead of legislators.

Look folks, our legal system is refered to as the penal code for a reason. It is meant to punish people for the crime the committed. It's not called the preventative code and it is not intended to punish people for crimes they MIGHT HAVE committed based on the risk of their behavior.

Driving with a BAC over the legal limit without property damage or personal injury should be punishable by a ticket and maybe a license revokation - Even if you've done it three times (without injury or property damage). The whole three strikes and it's a felony and this nonsense of spending state dollars to protect people from themeselves (especially when they'll just get around it anyway), represents using the criminal justice system for prevention instead of what it is intended for (punishment - which should fit the crime).

There are plenty of laws regarding drunk driving related property damage and personal injury and these additional measure are simply ridiculous. We already have criminal vehicular homicide and many other laws that address similar facets of the issue.

We need to shove MADD in a closet and tell them to back off.

Hopefully, the owner's DNA will be somehow programmed into the device because otherwise they will just get someone to breathe into the mechanism for them and surprise surprise, their car will start.

The "slicks" over at the DPS have added DUI and DWI together to make some kind of distorted statement that one in eight Minnesotans are drunk drivers, 35 to 40,000 do people really believe that Minnesoya citizens are guilty of such damn propaganda. If you run over a beer bottle that causes any PPD it is logged into the "Alcohol related column".
Just like the rape going on for a gallon of milk or gasoline, There is no one to confront the greed taking place in our country, The government it self is an in saitable hog, Just be a good victim folks and don't complain. someone knows what is best for you. One of these days it will be Joe citizens time.
