Sounds like a good ole fashioned "witch hunt" to me. Why is the media jumping on this so prematurely? Doesn't seem like any laws have been broken. The School Board better have their heads screwed on right as they look into this.

Perhaps parents are finally becoming tired of the culture of dishonesty and disrespect that is so pervasive in the public schools system. When does one know if they are telling the truth? Since it is not often, it is not easy to tell...

If the principal is having a romantic/sexual relationship with the teacher, he shouldn't be making decisions about hiring or promoting her. It sounds like that kind of relationship is being alleged here. He doesn't deny it.

That's the rule in any business or organization. Other employees or parents could sue the school district if they believe that the boss is making decisions based on personal feelings, not objective criteria.

There are no attorneys who will represent a parent in a fight with the public schools monolith unless one has a lot of money and time.

The superintendent, on the other hand, has unlimited free legal help from the city attorney's office. Teachers have unlimited legal help from their union and the CTA - it does not matter how egregious their alleged behaviour may be.

You think the arrogance of public officials comes from nothing? There is a reason for their arrogance - they are usually untouchable unless they make a serious tactical error, e.g., making a movie of the abuse of a child. Then they could be punished with something barbaric like time off with pay (what us peasants call vacation).

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aries

There are mixed messages flying around in the ether today, so be wary about drawing any concrete conclusions from what happens now. Even though you don't realize it, you may be misreading the signs that someone is sending out, which will lead to complications later on. Be especially careful about indulging in romantic daydreams and then believing them.
