These compassionate people who care about others are being locked up for 5 years just for providing patients with a very beneficial, non-toxic, natural herb.

Yet the makers of methadone and oxycontin are killing people and ruining other people's lives on a daily basis. And they get away with it.

This makes me sick to my stomach.

Time for revolt.

We the People should not have to put up with the FEDS overturning the States laws.
Essentially the FEDS invaded our State to nail a LAW ABIDING CITIZEN.

The FEDS have also remove the ability of the States to protect consumers against predatory credit cards companies also. All fifty States DA's are in an uproar because the FEDS said they can't go after the credit companies as "they" (they FEDS) have sole jurisdiction over them.

Our Federal Government is a piece of crap.

Of course YOU THE PEOPLE are a bunch of spineless weenies that will continue being herded and culled at the will of the FEDS.

When the new Democrat President is sitting in the Oval Office, perhaps this idiocy will come to an end. All of the potential candidates for that party have pledged to end DEA interference with state medical marijuana programs. I hope that it will be made retroactive so that these good people don't have to waste too much of their lives sitting in cages.

Actually you could not be more wrong. The Feds would already have made it legal AND taxed it were it to be more profitable than the support of the pharmaceutical companies.

Without Medical MJ I eat around 2000mg's of ibuprofen and several over the counter pain pills every day. This is only because I refuse to eat the serious pain medication my doctor prescribed.

Pot = pain relief if not overused and abused. I have a great job, family and life. Much of that would be not as easy with out the medication that works for me.

I am not however in favor of "dispensaries", medical cards or any form of registration. If one needs grow it. Stuff is a weed and anyone can grow a few plants.

Dispensaries are nothing more than profit centers for those that run them. The cost of "legal" pot is the same as the price on the street even more sometimes.

If these people truly gave pot to those in need at a reasonable price they should be commended. If they charged $300/400.00 an ounce they are simply profiteering gamblers that lost the game.

I still think they should not be arrested by the Feds when the State legalized it.

Awesome job guys !!! Get those evil people trying to help paitents while there are killers, molesters, crooks, etc...running around free. So called "pot heads" get pot off the street not from dr's. But it's much easier to bust these people than go after real criminals who might no go so easy. Tough guy cops are good at giving tickets and busting hookers but when it comes to the real criminals that keep the public in fear they turn to cowardly revenue agents. I sleep better knowing these two old doctors are in jail. What a joke...

They got what they deserved. They are nothing more than common drug dealers using state law to hide their criminal enterprise. Prop 215 is a shame designed to legalize marijuana.

Face the facts... Pot is for getting high. Just about everyone I know smokes it or has smoked it in the past.

Why not just make it legal? Lord know it would help with the California Budget defecit.

If pot were legal, there would be nobody hanging outside of Liquor Stores in baggy clothes carrying a firearm.

It could be grown, taxed & sold....

And just what is wrong with legalizing pot? Don't you know that legal or not PEOPLE SMOKE IT?

It is a useful herb. The only people it offends are the ones that are so insecure with themselves that they have to impose their morality on others.

Go back to giving Jerry Falwell cash, idiot.

Legalize and tax, just as the government does with tobacco. While it won't make up the revenue short-fall, or even that brought about by the legislators voting themselves that last raise, it might make a small difference in the deficit.

One advantage to the legalization of marijuana is that, as with other addictive products on the market (ie: tobacco, alcohol), the quality of the product can be regulated. Hey, it might even be marketed as cigarettes are, with a dozen brands, to suit different strengths and needs!

Although, I can see the necessity for people who need/use marijuana to be careful to keep that consumption to the privacy of their own homes. Rather than make the use/possession illegal, simply make it illegal to be under the influence when operating a vehicle, or when in public.
(Public drunkenness.)

I'll start off by saying, I'm all for medical marijuana. The government has no right, as far as I'm concerned, to step in when it comes to matters such as this. If someone is ill, in pain from their illness etc and pot helps them, it should be legal for them to use. End of story.

Now on the other hand, when you say that people are against legalizing pot because they are insecure, that's actually comical. I'll say the ones that smoke pot are so damn insecure and weak they can't face reality unless they are high.

I could care less if someone wants to get high, that's there business. But should it be legal?? No!
