I wish I had some pull here to help these people!
That is what contracts are for..., if is not spelled out in the mortgage contract, it does not exist!! I have land mortgaged in Nacogdoches, two properties, one DOES spell it out and the other does not.
Amazing... this is literally Main Street America, the bank located on Main Street. I see a communistic America, not domocracy.

None, you obviously don't know what this is all about, it has nothing to do with paying their bills, Culler family i am with you all the way, everything else is spelled out in your mortgage and so should the information regarding mineral rights, if that information is excluded then i think the bank should have to forfeit regardless of how many cases Mr. Atherton has overseen, he has never had anyone challenge him on the issue. Good luck.

I do think justice is should be served here concerning the mineral rights, but I can't see anything good about putting your kids out there on the road. It's a good lesson in bad parents manipulating their kids to get what they think is just.

Note... the article doesn't mention the huge black Mercedes parked out on the street. Property of the Cullers.

On the contrary, I think it teaches them to stand up for themselves! Go get 'em!

There are MUCH better moments to teach kids about civic duty and how to stand up for yourself.

Because the parents are out there for their own financial gain, using the kids looks like a manipulative move on their part.

That said, if the bank didn't communicate about the mineral rights, then there is something sneaky about that too.

I hope they get the letter, but I wish they'd utilize different opportunities to teach the kids about life.

It seems that teaching civics lessons as part of a home schooling event weighs heavier than teaching that paying your bills and holding down a job are responsibilities that ALL parents should instill. Teaching the right to protest? Come on! These beautiful young ladies are learning the wrong message here. If the bank loaned money to buy the minerals with the land, why would the bank release the rights so that more money could be borrowed against them?
The road to resolution should start with getting a job, paying the mortgage, and reaping the benefits of land and mineral ownership. It does still exist that way for most of us doesn't it?

For those who have commented about the parenting, meet their daughters. They are the most well behaved, happy, and polite children I have ever met.

So I hope they get what is theirs.

"Note... the article doesn't mention the huge black Mercedes parked out on the street. Property of the Cullers."

You obviously don't understand their situation at all.

#1 That Mercedes is called a "Sprinter" and they have 4 kids. A pretty smart investment if you ask me. It has a 4 cyl. Mercedes engine in it. It is made by Dodge. Probably gets better gas mileage than most Chevy suburbans and costs as much, if not less than.

http://www.dodge.com/en/2009/sprinter/

#2 They were screwed out of their mineral rights. They bought that house counting on that money for helping them to live the life they wanted, were currently living, and chose to live. They were told those mineral rights were theirs and CBTX intentionally put their name on those checks (which was illegal), kept them from cashing them so they couldn't make the payment on their house, then when they got behind on the payments.....mysteriously made their name on the checks "disappear".

What Commercial Bank is doing and has done.....it is a scam. Ask any con artist and they will tell you the same thing. If you can't see what is going on then you are blind and Commercial Bank of Texas has been screwing the people of Nac for decades.

The Cullers.....They are extremely smart people. Smarter than you apparently. Matter of fact they are practically geniuses. All of them. What has happened is that CBTX has met their match. They haven't had anyone smart enough come along and challenge them...until now.

Tony, Renee, Serah, Layla, Alexandra, & Sophia.....we miss you guys. We think about you all often and will continue support you through all this in prayer.
