How sad , my heart goes out to the families

Two months ago I got hit head-on by a 21 year old punk who was speeding, not paying attention, then swerved and went out of control when someone made a turn in front of him. He jumped the median and hit me head-on. Seatbelt saved me. Had a broken arm and leg, but am healing. The punk claims someone cut him off. We know better. I wonder if the girl who was killed had a seat belt on? Regardless, I'm sick and tired of jerks who injure or kill innocent people. The intersection of 77 and 42 is a ghosttown at 3:15 a.m. How does a guy blow into the intersection on a red light? Drunk? Maybe. Sleeping? Maybe. Inexcusable. This poor girl doesn't get to recover from her injuries. It's one thing when you hurt yourself, but another when some loser takes away a life for no reason at all.

Sad sad story. I'm assuming the guy was drunk but he might have fallen asleep, either way no excuse.

Dear James- This is a sad event and even sadder it happened. You keep referring to a young punk during your story and i'm not sure if you read the whole article but it goes to state that, "A car driven by a 59-year-old Minneapolis man on westbound County Road 42 entered the intersection and hit the car driven by Darah Lynn Robertson of Farmington. Robertson, 18, was killed." Therefore referring to young punks doesn't provide an accountable point at all. Please don't mistake that this is inexusable to say the least. THere is nothing more disheartening than to hear an innocent person is killed. I just didn't know where the young punk scenario fell into play when it was a 59 year old man that did the damage.

Thank you to all of you who have read the news release of the death of this young lady, and who send out regards to the family. I am Darah's aunt and this is such a tragedy. This was and is such a shock to our family. Darah had such a great life ahead of her, and now it is cut short. The man who ran into her will have to answer for his actions. God bless our family during this time of sorrow and loss of our beautiful Darah.

Darah was a fellow coworker and friend of mine. She was sweet and full of life. It is such a tradgedy to lose such a young and wonderful person. She is sadly missed by all her friends and family. I still wonder about the seatbelt and the mans state of mind that hit her too. The bottom line is life can be so short. Live, laugh, and love as much as you can. I know she touched my life and I will always remember her smiling face! There are truly no words for this. I will keep her family in my heart and prayers. Her mother is such a sweet and caring person. I just wanted readers to know a little more about Darah. There is nobody like her! We will miss her much!

she was my cousin, more like my little sister. she was a beautiful, girl who was full of life. she had alot of potential to do great things w/ her life.
the story ive gotten from family is that the man that hit her droe through a red light. kind of disgusting if you ask me. my cousin is dead because this man felt that red lights dont apply to him.

Thank You Chris, I'm convinced most never read the article, and take the time to understand. Just reply to the posts. Chris wrote: Dear James- This is a sad event and even sadder it happened. I feel bad for all partys involved! The family of Darah and the man who hit her. Without knowing all the facts I know there was at least one time where I had stuff on my mind and ran a light without realizing it until after... If he was drunk that is another story and I really want to know how this turns out!
However, for those of you who say this is inexcusible all the facts need to be in first... Think about it... This 59 year old man needs to live with the fact he killed someone for the rest of his life! I don't know about you but if I wouldn't be able to go on knowing that! Anyhow I am sorry for the loss of such a young girl who had her whole life ahead of her and I do feel bad for the man who has to live with this burden for the rest of his life.
