Well I thinks it's a great idea. It gives them a chance to do a full back round check, criminal, mental or whatever. It will give people who buys guns in rash decisions a chance to stop, think and cool off. Maybe someone was thinking of murder or suicide, that 10 day waiting period could save someone's life. Granted you can buy guns off the street, but some don't know how or where. If you are buying a gun for personal reason such as target shooting, hunting, protection then that 10 day wait is not a big deal. The only ones that have a issue are the ones who have intentions. But this is only my option.
If someone is breaking in to your house you're going to have to yell out to them,'Hey care to come back in 10 days or so I don't seem to have my gun on me right now'.

In the federal courts and in many states Judges have ruled the police have no obligation to protect citizens on life, limb, or property. Given that and the response time why would anyone not be well armed? Waiting periods only add cost and waste time. If I wanted to kill a large number of people there are better ways to apply the laws of physics (and chemistry ) than a fire arm, even a machine gun. Just wait until one of these school shooters starts paying attention in chemistry class instead of playing video games. One day unlike the to knot heads at columbine some kid with perfect the compressed flammable gas bomb. Knowing a few people that have been severely burnt I would rather be shot again than be a crispy

Who needs a waiting period? If you want one bad enough there is always someone around to sell you one. Haven't you ever heard of a throw away?

Wow, I did say this is my opinion, it's not yours. And in 10 days no my thoughts would be the same about this.
You didn't say anything about your opinion. Go back and read your 1st comment.

How do you think gun owners feel about having to wait? You post your opinion and not expect to get back lash?
I would say alot more but wouldnt' want to hurt your feelings.
There are so many ways to get a gun . 10 days will not make make a difference one way or the other except you may cause the gun store to lose a sale ..

What if a woman has been threatened by a crazy boyfriend. She has an order of protection but knows he will not obey it. He has been violent in the past. She may be dead before the ten days is up.

<quoted text> I agree with you 100%.... Any normal law abiding person who wants to purchase a gun, SURELY, thinks about it awhile before buying, so what's a few days, hell I say a month to get a thorough background check...if you are a sane , law abiding citizen, why should you care, if it helps with protection of the innocent! Give me an answer...we have lots of guns and have given them as gifts to son and we always think long and hard first! My husband has a concealed weapon and had to take a course and test to get..he obeys all the rules, so guns are nice for protection, but only with education and safety rules..this is not the cowboy days, it is a suppose to be a civilized nation!
What if you already have a few guns. Then you want to buy a new one. Why would you have to wait? If you had ill intentions. You would just use one of the guns you already have.

I have my pistal permit, I own a gun, if I had to wait 10 days to get a new one, or even if it was my first one, so be it. In order to carry or own a gun, do you not have to go through a class, get finger printed, wait to hear to see if your even approved. And to even carry in some states you have to take several different classes. So waiting 10 days for a gun I don't see the big deal.

No you don't if you're not a felon you can legally buy and carry a firearm no permits are needed! The permit gives you the right to conceal a firearm!

Speak the truth ;)..... We need to wake up ......I carry after being shot point blank range with a sawed off shot gun in a home invasion here in Lancaster ......... Since getting my conceal and carry ....... Have had to pull my piece several times to stop violent activity on poor defenseless victims ......... What carrying a weapon does is level the playing field ...... On those occasions ..... I made the decision to come to the aid of someone ...... I could have chose not to ....... But then in my mind I'm no better than the perpetrator ....... Violence is never the answer ....... But in a lot of situations in this world ......... It's the only solution !!! My opinion only :)

Any person intent on causing harm to others can easily do so ......... It's a fact, most Americans don't want to think about ....... We wanna think we are safe and that nothing can or ever would happen bad to us ......... Not the case in our society anymore ....... All those who choose not to protect and defend themselves ....... It's all good ..... Your decision ....... But don't oppose those of us who do choose that right ........ In the end , it may be one of us that comes to you in your time of need ........should you need it ........." Keep thinking I'm pussy ....... And People wonder why the Police are arming themselves like they're going to War. They are...with all these Lunatics running around with guns, and no self-control or self-discipline, and threatening to shoot anybody that doesn't agree with them, or their politics. Kinda like some on this Forum and their paranoid fear of Democrats, who they call Communists.

Heck, let's just go back to the days of the Wild, Wild West and have legal gunfights right out in the middle of the streets, to settle any differences of opinion. You Gun Nuts ought to love that!

This Nation, and way too many of it's Citizens and People in Authority, has literally gone insane!

That crazy judge will be lucky if one of the Gun Nuts that he rules against, doesn't shoot him while he's sitting on the Bench! It probably wouldn't be any great loss, if his other Rulings are as crazy as this one.

You better be worrying about the Mentally Ill People more than the Criminals. The Mass Murderers usually don't have criminal records, or a criminal background...they're just crazy and want to kill innocent People for no valid reason, other than they're CRAZY! They bad part is that they usually LOOK perfectly normal...and NOW, they're all going to have guns. What could possibly go wrong?...SMH...(and rolling my eyes)...

Frankly, I think that Judge needs to have a Mental Evaluation!
