I pray both these children make a full recovery. Sounds like they had someone looking over them.

i was on the bus when we heard about this accedent and that is was pretty bad and that who would of suspected this to happen in an school zone. This accedent is an on going conversation at our school Triway High School. I suspected that she was speeding and didn't relize that the cars were stoped and didn't see the kids and that she may of been talking on her cell phone. My personal thoughts make me feel that the state should keep the law around there enforcing the speed limit becuase it is 20 mph when school is letting out and when the buses are leaving the school every day there is someone going faster than they should and just about all of them are talking on there cell phone or not paying any attention to the speed limit

Thank God they will be o.k. It is an accident that should not have happened. I was northbound right after this accident happened and drivers were not doing the 20mph through this school zone. People slow down. Pay attention and do the speed limit! A speedy recovery to these two students. I wish them well.

It's easy to be so familiar with a roadway that the mind switches to auto pilot.
I won't point fingers at cell phone use, texting or any other distraction: I was not in the car with the driver, so I don't know.
I do know that school zones generally are preceded or bounded by flashing lights that operate during prescribed hours; these zones are marked; there is a prescribed speed limit for such zones.
If speeding drivers have been a problem in the past, this would suggest that target enforcement may be useful in this immediate area.
