It would not surprise me one bit if the minister in question had a cache of kiddy porn at his manse or church. Unfortunately the arrest and the evidence alone probably would not support a search warrant. He will probably get a slap on the hand, be required to go to counseling and then be back in business. Masturbating in a store, in the boys' underwear aisle is just the tip of the iceberg. Sadly this kind of sickness is not limited to any particular occupation. It is unfortunate that he is a pastor because it brings discredit not only on himself but many others.

This pastor officiated at both of my parents
graveside service and it totally sickens me.
I am a United Methodist pastor myself and everytime something like this it happens it
severely hurts the credibility of all of us
who are members of the clergy.
This man needs to go to prison. It is hard enough
being a pastor these days. No one is perfect and
we all (including pastors) need grace and mercy
but when some clergypersons intentionally does
something like this it is disgraceful and deplorable. I hope no child was present to see any of this as if one had their innocence would
be destroyed.

I have know this man since 1990. I along with my family and church grew to know and love him and his family. He was the preacher at my church when I was a little girl and my cousins were in the youth group when he and his wife were in charge of the youth group. He is not this type of man, something has to be wrong with him to do this. And for anyone information I used to work at a Dollar General for 2 years and all the underwear are in the same place. I think that everyone puts preachers on a pedalstool and that they can do no worng but what everyone seems to forget is that they are only human, just like the rest of us and god forgives all. I think that everyone should not be so quick to judge until they have all the facts. Everyone should be praying for him, his family, and everyone that has been afficted by this.

I am from Big Stone Gap, and I agree. He and his family and his church all need prayer. Everyone makes mistakes and NO ONE can judge us for them but our maker. He should be punished serve his time, and be able to go on with his life. I don't know anybody, minister or not, that is perfect and everybody makes mistakes.

Honey i dont know what Dollar store you worked at, but all underware are not in the same place or the same isle.every store is different but the womens and girls are in one isle, and the boys and mens are in another. It is sickening what he did, pastor or not he needs to get help.

In response to District Superintendent. Does the Bishop know that you have judged a man before he is or is not convicted in a court of law? I have known Mr. & Mrs. M.C. Tolbert for 5 yrs. Never have they said or done anything out of the way. His wife was my employee in the court system and was top notch. Before judgement, wait until the facts are in. By the way, he was our families pastor as well.

MC was my pastor for several years. This is out of character for him. I believe he has snapped. Please don't judge his family for this. Prayers for all concerned.

MC Tolbert made a sad character mistake. He should be forgiven and restored. Humility often comes to a man after he is broken by his offenses. MC has served the church for most of his life. All of the good deeds he has done cannot be put in the character balance against this one bad mistake. His family is of good character and servants of God. I am sure MC is broken from the hurt he has caused his family, his friends, and his church. Let MC be counseled ...corrected and restored to his lifes work. If not as a pastor then to work with the church in some compacity. He like many men in the Bible has fallen...and great was that fall....but remember Gods grace is sufficient to restore the sinner man back to good service... Just like King David, Paul, Abraham, Moses...and many others in the Bible who had troubled lives. Please understand that oftentimes this is the process that God uses to allow men to be better. Let MC repent...offer restitution...
and be used again by God ( Romans 2:4).
I personally forgive MC and I am glad to be his friend.MC is also a very good community servant and a great banjo player. Let MC have an opportunity to make it right and I am sure God will give him the power to do that.

Seriously? Just let it go and hope it doesent happen again? That is rediculous?
And how would this guy "make it right", as you put it? Do a free bible class for 6 to 10 year old boys? No, thanks! He can "make it right" by going to jail like the rest of the freaks that do this kind of stuff.
Everybody wants to hang Ricky Webb and give this pervert a free pass. Wise County's priorities are way out of line.

Why would it be the Dollar Stores fault for not having a public restroom? How is jerking off an emergency? Why didnt you call 911 for him if he had such a big emergency. I'm sure they'd lend a hand. OOPS!! Did I just say that? Sorry to all the rescue workers out there.

You do realize this was done in the kids section? I guess that makes you just like preacher boy? I bet you have child porn on your computer dont ya?

your right danielle, there is something wrong with him, he is obviously a SEXUAL PREDATOR, and there is a place to help him, it is called PRISON. But I bet the "good ole boy" will get probation or nothing at all, and be right back out there fondling himself and thinking of little kids..........has to be a special place in hell for people like that.
