Nice, well meaning, but very unreliable if there is a problem.

Agree not reliable if there is a problem. He came and fixed our appliance ( I know why he came bc he was getting paid). Called after we had issues after he fixed and asked him to come back out and said he would come twice and never showed. Said he would call me back sometimes in a couple minutes and he would never call back. I would have to call him. So much for a warranty on parts and labor, that is a lie. What a rip off and i will just fix the problem myself.

Does he do any work in NC, or does he limit himself to GA and TX?

They showed up on time, diagnosed the heater problem and gave me a quote. They ordered wrong parts, made excuses for not calling back and not showing up as scheduled. Damaged other parts while installing the one part they said was faulty. Charged me for those new parts and the labor to install them. After 6 weeks and Sam and Steve insisting they have thoroughly inspected my unit no less than 6 times, my unit was having the exact problem. Once you pay them, you have to harass them to show back up. I had to pay another specialist to come out and correct the problem. All the new parts were continuously blowing because Steve rewired them incorrectly and the actual problem had nothing to do with what Steve and Sam claimed the problem was. More than $700 down the tube and another $1600 to pay another specialist to correct all of their mistakes, replace the new parts that were blown and fix the actual problem. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

We were having problems with our Frigidaire Affinity Dryer making a loud noise when drying and also getting overheated. I researched appliance companies on the Internet to determine companies that had good ratings and good reviews. I found that this company had several good reviews, therefore, I called them. The owner, Steve and his father-in-law, Sam came to look at our dryer on 5/8/13. they confirmed that they had to replace heater coil/string kit and tighten some loose wires. I was given a receipt which stated “Frigidaire Dryer, String Kit, Grounding, Replace String Kit, Loose 120V Wires Tighten; 90 Day Warranty –Total -$225”. None of the fees were broken down – just a total of $225. After speaking with some of our friends and some appliance experts, we were told that this fee seemed to be very high. We sent an email to the company asking for a breakdown of the fees. We never received a response – Red Flag #1. On 6/17/13 we started having problems with the dryer again. Rather than getting too hot, it was not getting hot at all and it was stopping after 10 minutes and all of the lights were flashing. I called Steve’s Appliance & HVAC the morning of 6/18/13,and the morning of 6/19 and left messages stating that we still had problems with the heating of the dryer and we needed for them to come back per the warranty. We received no return call – Red Flag #2 I then noticed that the contact number on the invoice was different than the advertised number on the Internet. I called the number on the invoice and was told that it was a “wrong number”. I advised the woman on the phone that this was strange because this was the number on our invoice that I had received a month ago. She told me that she has received hundreds if not thousands of calls for Steve’s appliance. I asked her how long she had had this number and she said that she obtained the phone number May 2012.– Red Flag #3 I decided to google the company and the owner name. The first thing that came up was a mug shot of the owner. Red Flag #4 I then found that another appliance company is owned by the same owner, however, it goes by another name and address. It is “Steve’s Appliance’s” in Holly Springs, NC and is rated an “F”. There have been 4 complaints that have been filed against this company between 8/2010 – 10/2012 with many similarities to our situation. None of the complaints were responded to and calls were never returned even to the BBB.. The afternoon of 6/19, I again left a VM with Steve’s Appliance stating that I now understood the reason why they weren’t calling us back based on the information that I had discovered. I advised that we were requesting a refund of our $225. Red Flag #5 On 6/21, a highly rated appliance company came to look at our dryer. I advised him that Steve’s Appliance had replaced the heater coil/string kit. The repairman took one look and advised us that it was very obvious that the heater coil/string kit had never been replaced. He tested the heater coil and found that it was working fine. He fixed some additional loose wires and found that the relay switch in one of the computer boards was bad. He showed me what a new heater coil/string kit looks compared to the heater coil/string kit that was on our dryer. A new heater coil is white compared to the heater coil/string kit on our dryer that was black, worn and in some places out of shape. He stated that the heater coil/string kit was a couple of years old, based on the wear. The repairman also advised that there were 6 – 8 screws that were never replaced when Steve’s Appliance put the dryer back together.

Called Steve's appliance in holly springs nc to fix ac unit. They came out said coil was leaking said they fixed the leak and cleaned the unit and charged me $400 by morning time ac was not working again. Sam said must be the coil we will.replace it for $700. After numerous appointments and no shows I decided to get a 2nd opinion and sure glad I did! Another ac repair man came found the the coil was fine and found one of the caps weren't tight enough he tightened it and all is well! Steer clear of these guys there are good honest reliable local HVAC repair guys out there!
