Well, this is just ridiculous. If she had done something similar to what her students did, she wouldn't have a job, but when it's the students that keep doing things, she's the one to blame. Don't Christians also believe the ideal of love one another as thyself?

Sounds to me like Ms. Hussain is looking for a little attention.

But what's the deal with the State Government sanctioning her for legal activities in her private life?

It's funny how that works...I think it is against freedom of speech myself..However if my employer catches me insulting the company then I can be terminated..Almost all places now make you sign a contract (or be fired**see blackmail**) saying you want do just what she did..

Don't forget to goose step...

I agree with all your comments.
Freedom of speech and over zealous school kids being ignorant.
But none of this would have happened if she kept her private life private and made her facebook profile PRIVATE.

duh

I'm always intrigued when people are disciplined and catigated for activities that are perfectly legal. Why does the school board feel it is legal to discipline a teacher when she posts comments on a social network site? Unless she did it during working hours, is it really any of their business? Think 1st Amendment. Same with kids posting stuff. It's none of the schools business what they say or do outside the classroom and school grounds, yet kids are disciplined all the time for this sort of thing. Except for incidents where threats are communicated or safety issues are involved, why is a government (public) school involved at all.

And by the way, I have no such sensitivities to tippy-toe around the implications no one wants to comment upon... the teacher is muslim and islamic by faith and practice.

She's supposed to be the adult, the professional. She has acted anything but. She has an agenda. She overreacted. If she hates those she is given charge over, let her go where that hatred will not come through. She's unfit to teach due to her immaturity. Our society is developing a hatred of "all things Jesus". Too bad. Were I a teacher and a child placed a Quran or Watchtower on my desk, I would graciously accept the gift and then do what I wanted with it. I would not revile them in a public forum - just plain stupid....and mean.

Truthfully- would you want your child in a class where the teacher admits she ridicules students and posts ugly remarks about them in a public forum? I think not.

I cannot believe all the people that are against Christians these days. I have one question, "What is so bad about being a Christian?" Do no kill, steal, commit adultery, honor thy father & mother and so on. And yet, we seem to be the bad guy these days. Really??? When the Lord comes back, every knee shall bow the saved and unsaved.

Fortunately it is NOT a requirement for citizenship, to hold a job, or run for public office. I'm sure that you would agree that this is part of America's Greatness.

uh when it sounds like she was going to DO something to children, if your children assuming you've multiplied were singled out for some overt action by a teacher would you be outraged or just let it happen?

Surely good Christians would not use this as the starting point of not-so-subtle harassment.

I would much rather a teacher vent about the kids than do something to them..I mean I could not do there job..The kids now days know nothing will happen so they act anyway they want..Just like there loud mouth parents who think the teacher should be raising there child..

I am in agreement with you in general. My question is, should the government make decisions based on something they read on a public forum where free speech and open communications occur. As far as the article states, the teacher didn't do anything illegal or immoral in the classroom. She's being punished for postings on Facebook. That's the only part that concerns me.

I mentioned that in an earlier post..Most places now make you sign a contract saying you will not because if you do and our busted you will be fired..I think it is a violation of my rights and everyone's ..

It's just like I must sign a form consenting to a drug test that is random and mandatory...I don't have to but if I don't then I am fired..So why must I sign ? I have to take it...

All the right's are going to government and big business...

well if the children weren't brainwashed to cram the bible and their beliefs down other throats, this never would have started now would it? Her private life is her private life and she should be able to choose her own religion without being harrassed by her students. As long as she does not foce her views on the students then who cares.

Laying a Bible on someone's desk is by far cramming it down her throat. She'll wish she listened one day.
