HECK YEAH YOU SHOULD HAVE TO SAY THE PLEDGE!!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO OR HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. YOU SHOULD MOVE OUT OF THIS COUNTRY AND GO LIVE IN CHINA, NORTH KOREA, CUBA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY AND THEN SEE HOW GOOD YOU HAVE IT HERE, LIVING IN THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.

We should say the pledge, no question about it. We are fortunate to live in the Land of the Free & the Home of the Brave. If you don't love it leave it& return to your native land Cuba, Venezuela or any other communist country of your choice!
We are one nation under God! Remember and hold it sacred.

.

If the U.S. were a Christian nation, then Christ
would have been mentioned in the Constitution
of the United States.

But, He wasn't !

Nevertheless we Christians recognize that the
civil rulers were appointed over us by the Lord
(Romans 13:1-4).

How about saying the Pledge the way it was written and said for 50 years before "under god" was added in the 19050's. That would be the most American.

Good point. What do Christians in other countries say? What if two countries with significant Christian populations are at war, who does God side with?

Remember from the Bible that God destroyed nations for the benefit of Israel, then destroyed Israel for its failure to live in obedience to Him. Let us consider especially His stern warning to Israel to submit to Nebuchadnezzar, the pagan king of Babylon (Jer. 27).

Contrast that with Christians today who spent more time vilifying Bill Clinton than praying for him, which is the only thing we are commanded to do in regards to our leaders.

These same Christians think George W. Bush can do no wrong, even though Bush repeatedly says all religions - including Islam - pray to the same God and lead to heaven. Even though his policies in the middle east have resulted in the decimation of Christians, whom he won't even grant asylum (I suppose because they aren't Mexican). Even though he appeases Muslims at every opportunity.

Can we bless America? You should be publicly flogged for even asking this question.

You should be thankful we live in a country where this question can be asked. For the love of God, if this person feels so uncomfortable reciting the pledge find another church where they don't.

And you, sir, with respect, should be publicly flogged perhaps with a wet noodle or two for forgetting that "we" don't bless America. The nature of blessing is that blessings flow from a deity. Yes, I have read the Old Testament blessings from fathers to children, etc and no where is there a command to repeat THOSE performances in our time.

So, it's acceptable to bless a sneezing person, but not our country and the flag? That's just not right.

It's a lost cause. For each "Bless America, there are I'm sure a thousand prayers from other lands to curse us.

Sorry, but I cannot sing “God bless America”. Not when the law of the land is to kill innocent babies, recognize homosexuality, etc. People who go out and vote for abortionists as long as they get what they want.

I pray for America. The devastations from hurricanes, tornados, floods, fire and disease, may be warnings from God. We cannot keep a statue of Our Lord and Lady on our lawn in some places.

Don’t tell me how bad other places are. We should not be comparing ourselves to others.

My family came here in 1845 so I have no place to return to. Also served in military for whatever that’s worth.

America needs blessings. It is over-run with uppity trouble makers, and could use the extra help.

The pledge didn't even contain the phrase "one nation under god" until the 1950's, they put it in to protect us from the communists. Like they were witches or something and would burst into flames if they recited the words. Our leaders were idiots even then.

I think that we are asking for God's blessing on America and my interpretation of that is that we, the people, make up America, and that's what we are really asking for, is God's blessing on all Americans. I think that is a very generous and non-denominational, ehtnic, gender request. I think that anyone who does not want God's blessing has deeper issues that need to be resolved, and absolutely God should be a part of our Pledge Of Allegiance. Athiests can go out in the hall for a smoke if they don't want
God's blessing. Does it make them ill to hear it, does it affect their income, does it make their marriage suffer, does it make their kids stupid,(oh, oh, maybe getting to close to home on this one)? Heck no, I will defend this right until I die!

God doesn't play favorites. However the leaders of each Nation have the choice whether to follow what Lincoln called "the Good Angels of our existence", or the evil angel.

For example. Pol Pot followed satan's teachings. Stalin followed satan's teachings. As did Mao. The USSR and China and Cambodia suffered immensly for this--tens of millions of people starved or were killed because of this.

God Bless America. Land that I love. Stand beside her, and guide her, through the night with a light from above.
