You must not be familiar with the Federal Reserve's ZIRP (zero interest rate policy). Essentially, there is free money to be had if you are a wealthy individual or business. Should be no trouble to get a loan secured with hard assets, if the firm has a decent credit rating.

If money was so easy to get why didn't the last 2 companies get it then?

Maybe they were sham companies. Or they just don't have a competent finance group.

Like I said, If money was so good why doesn't everybody get it. If HudBay, and established well run mining company couldn't afford to keep it open, how can an upstart with no mining experiance.

BTW, The company is already hinting at wanting Tax cuts and rebates, plus IDA money. They are asking the politicians already.

Of course they will ask for freebies. This is the land of freebies. Our own Federal Reserve Chairman insists on free money printed from thin air or pumped out of his rear end.

I hope they succeed in re-opening the mine. Gouvy could use the jobs and bigger tax-base.

Yeah, ok. So, it'll help Fowler's tax-base, but could still provide employment for people from Gouvy.

So the deal's dead. No big surprise here. I'm betting it was never actually "alive" to begin with, and was nothing more than some type of stock manipulation ploy.

Too bad. I think you are right. Must've been "trial balloons" and never very serious to begin with.

Well the people bashing this hope for alot of jobs FUCK OFF. It would be great for the Gouverneur community to have the place open. Its probly the usual people that dont work or dont want to work. Its pretty amazing that there is even an attempt to open a big buisiness like this in New York state for one and the total economy for 2. Hipe it does happen then maybe i can get some neighbors that actually care about work and not welfare.

WTF is your problem? No one is bashing the "hope" for more jobs around here, just the idea that the mines will ever really be a truly viable employment option anytime in the near future. These corporations are playing games based on commodity pricing and the related stock fluctuations. At least I think they are. They aren't serious at all, and you'd be wise not to attach any of your "hopes" to their gambling.
